Hatred is overrated!
In fact, the 1st amendment protects all speech except, slander, libel, perjury and various girls of incitement. I’m free to express my hatred for old, white, Scots-Irish ginger cis-males and there’s not a thing the government can do about it.

Cardin is espousing hate. Per his terms, he should not have first amendment rights.
No other group has anything remotely like that sort of infrastructure in place, not to mention extending and increasing it. (As he is proposing here.)

Those who arrogate on themselves the power of determining what is and is not “hate speech” and what should and should not be censored, are really after suppressing ALL speech with which they disagree. Hate speech is free speech, and can be countered with more, better free speech. If you don’t cop to that, you’re unfit to serve in public office, except in Russia or China.

The more I look at that statement, the more nefarious it seems. He personalizes it. “Those that espouse hate are not protected by the First Amendment.” The person who said anything, or even thought something, that you call “espousing hate” is forever banned. Nothing that he says is protected by the first amendment.
“Hate” speech is subjective which is why the DemoMarxist domestic enemies of the USA want to make it a crime because they can say ANYTHING is hate and use it to arrest anybody they want. Merely disagreeing with a Marxist can be declared “hate speech”.
SORRY, Senator, but the US Supremes say you are WRONG.
To clarify: Hate Speech is protected, violent THREATS are not.
