I don’t believe in a specific Antichrist, more of a spirit of antichrist in the end time with a man of sin its spiritual leader. That may lead back to Zelinskyy alright, although you would have to say if there were one person posing as a super-Christian that might be Putin. Other globalists don’t qualify because they are not even trying to project an image of Christianity. The Antichrist by definition cannot be an overt atheist or outward follower of some other religion. But as I say, for me there’s no one scary dude, it’s more like one vast scary neo-Christian ideology. You do see some globalist leaders pretending to be followers of Jesus Christ. Zelinskyy himself has made common cause with the globalists but what are his other options? He can hardly phone up Putin and say, Vlad the country is yours, I am checking out. He cannot turn to China or the Iranians or any other Arabs, they would all rather see Ukraine decimated in their own interest.

What we need to be careful about is this — there is Scripture, and then there is modern fundamentalist theology based on a whole bunch of assumptions of what Scripture decoded actually means. What if all of those are entirely wrong? Few of the prophecies are presented in literal terms, there is obvious symbolism, but symbolism of what? And some of the modern theology makes very little sense. Europe has been drawn in as the obvious home of Antichrist mainly due to the twelve star image, but in fact the twelve stars are only mentioned in a passage relating to the Messiah, so that has been co-opted into a convenient retro-fit that has no actual Scriptural basis at all.

Not to say if there were an Antichrist, he would not come from Europe, but flat out saying he has to do so removes a lot of the possible suspicious candidates from scrutiny.

Another belief of mine is that no matter how much thought and discernment goes into all this, Jesus Christ will just show up anyway at some unexpected time and explain how everything actually fits. We will know it’s really Jesus and not the Antichrist because ... now here’s a real poser, how will we know? If the Antichrist were capable of great deception, then he must resemble Jesus. What’s going to tell us otherwise? Jesus defeats the beast, dragon and false prophet. Some say the beast is the Antichrist. What if beast were Russia (and not antichrist), dragon is communist China and false prophet militant Islam. Then what about the globalist west? Probably they are also defeated, and identified as Babylon (which makes Ukraine the whore of Babylon).

The defeat of globalism will be perhaps not the military defeat that we expect to see at Armageddon but a political or philosophical defeat, a widespread realization that globalism is wrong-headed and evil. So far that realization is confined mainly to what most would call the alt right.

Now the alt right and true believers in Jesus Christ are not one and the same thing, if we were talking in terms of a Venn diagram then you would have two fairly overlapping circles with separate bits off to either side. You probably know people who are either one or the other but not both. I would place Elon Musk in that category, more likely to be alt right than a follower of Jesus Christ.

We shall know the tree by the fruit it bears.

And there are a lot of “fruits” out there now. Enough to make a fruitcake!

Any American Democrat could be the antiChrist. Biden is in position no 1. Nazi’s newphew Gavin Newsome may be No. 2.
