MSNBC’s Kirschner: Mark Meadows Likely ‘Cooperating with Federal Prosecutors’ on Trump Probe
Breitbart ^ | 12/28/2022 | Pam Key

Posted on 12/29/2022 6:16:02 AM PST by ChicagoConservative27

MSNBC legal analyst Glenn Kirschner said Monday on MSNBC’s “The Beat” that former Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows is likely already cooperating with the criminal investigations into the retention of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago and the events surrounding January 6, 2021.

Kirschner said, “The more we absorb this mega report of 850 pages from the J6 committee, the more it becomes clear Mark Meadows has emerged as the single most important potential cooperating for federal prosecutors. There’s like a leverage palooza, given what we have learned about Mark Meadows’ suspected crimes. We already knew he was referred for prosecution by the J6 committee for contempt of Congress. Why? Because he refused to comply with a subpoena. He would rather hide, bury, secret information about he had about Donald Trump’s crimes than comply with a lawful subpoena and divulge that information to Congress.

if the DOJ prosecutes this case Wray will invoke the Supreme Court’s ability to find the presidential records act unconstitutional. Presidents have the unfettered right to declassify classified documents merely in how presidents use the documents. Presidents are the be-all and end-all of document classification. Congress has no such authority.

It is interesting that Breitbart is reporting on something from MSNBC. That alone is odd, because “news about news” — like “opinion about opinion” — is become the stock and trade of our times. “Potential” and “likely” are now reported as if fact. So odd.

Here’s the thing. They are reporting what was being discussed on the show. Why is reporting on that wrong, scary or harmful. Even if it’s speculation, it’s what was discussed.

giving Kirschner a platform with his track record is questionable.

When you operate in an echo chamber and only see/hear the news that reinforces your views then anything that challenges those views is unacceptable.

I look at news from all over the world. It is educational to see and read how foreign countries view our actions, especially the political ones. And one can sometimes glean some interesting facts or info that might not get reported in our national media. I peruse our national media because I want to know what is being reported or said. I might not agree with it but at least I am informed of other views and why people believe them.

Anybody who relies on only a singular source of information are deluding themselves if they think they are knowledgeable or well informed.

Not all potential crimes rely on classified documents.

There are many here who only want to hear one side. The problem is hearing only one side not only closes you out of other perspectives but only one side may be blunting something factual that is truly part of the story.

Could likely be. Could be he’s spot on. It’s something that should be considered, unpleasant as it may be. So many here want to put their fingers in their ears and walk down the street going la, la, la, la, la.

~~~~~
The case in question, the case which Wray is trying to put together against Trump, is about Trump’s alleged possession of classified documents at Mar-A-Lago after Trump left the presidency.
In THAT case Trump declassified the documents in question, if in no other way, by taking them into his personal custody. The presidential document law Trump would be prosecuted under does not allow a president to perform this declassification. Therefore, the law is unconstitutional.
Actually, no.
The potential crimes noted in the search warrant application were violations of the Espionage Act relating to mishandling of national defense information.
The Act does not require the information to have been classified - only potentially valuable to our enemies.
This was intentional by Wray to avoid the whole classified/unclassified debate.
You'll note that none of Trump's filings have claimed the documents weren't classified because it doesn't matter.
