So I am confused, do we sell/give(which we also did in ww2) when not directly involved or not

Seems to me this conflict is very similar, we sold:donated weapons to one side and when Russia who entered into ww2 allied or at least not in conflict with the axis, and became our “ally” we did the same for them
The Russians, the Brit’s, the French… all bleed and used our weapons and supplies.
I imagine the hope was for them to handle it and keep our boys out of it
Same as now weapons, ammunition, supplies that would be used to fight the Russians are being used to fight the Russians again without our boys involved
