I have met or encountered couples like that, where one seemed to dislike or be openly disgusted by their spouse.
Usually, it’s the wife who cannot hide their contempt, but not always.
People get married for various reasons, romance is not always the top reason.

There is a couple on a Reality Show, where they fix up houses for sale.
She is all business, never cracks a smile. He is a very skilled carpenter, but is goofy and young at heart.
The way she looks at him sometimes, when he enters the room could freeze an active volcano.
