Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made a direct appeal to Republican critics during his Wednesday address to a joint meeting of Congress, telling lawmakers that no country was safe in the face of Russian aggression.
In a speech that won several standing ovations from both sides of the aisle, Zelenskyy predicted the war will hit a turning point next year just as Republicans are set to take control of the U.S. House of Representatives.
"The struggle will define in what world our children and grandchildren will live," said Zelenskyy. "This battle cannot be frozen or postponed, it cannot be ignored hoping that [an] ocean or something else will provide protection."

I really think the Zman has more graft in him than anyone can imagine. Here he comes into the country that the very person, Biden, threatened him with withholding $1M in funds awarded by the US for stopping the investigation on Biden’s kid and firing the prosecutor that was doing it. No country on Earth is safe with the CIA and the U.S. State Department pushing “regime change” everywhere in the world.
The way to stop this is to force a “regime change” in the USA.
I never thought I would say this but Russia will be doing the world a big favor by destroying those in leadership in Ukraine AND by pulling the rug out from under NATO to put an end to that worthless money pit as well.
Angela Merkel let the cat out of the bag when she admitted Western Europe and the USA never intended to honor the Minsk agreements they signed. They just signed to buy time to fully arm and equip Ukraine for an all-out war with Russia.

We now know for sure - nothing the USA or Western Europe proposes can ever be trusted with the wicked warmongers in power.

Actually, Russia is a distant third in the superpower department and has a long history of distrust of China, so what we should have done was switch from being semi-pals with China when the USSR collapsed to being semi-pals with Russia (as George Keenan advised). Instead, we created a monster China that is working toward making the 21st century theirs (and may well succeed) while pushing a reluctant Russia into China’s arms, shrieking “Russia Russia Russia!” like a frightened schoolgirl. We have been supremely foolish.
I have said since the very beginning that whoever “wins” this very stupid war in Ukraine, the real winner is China. And China knows it.
As far as “nothing happening” in previous proxy wars, the stakes are far different this time. Nuland and friends imagine they can use this war for regime change in Russia, and break Russia into pieces (which the Chinese will grab) and Biden said so publicly. We had no such goal in prior proxy wars. We raised the stakes on our own side, too. NATO’s reputation is at stake as well. We will do just about anything to keep our favorite power tool NATO relevant. Just as Putin will do just about anything to keep his head on his shoulders and Russia whole.
These are dangerous days, the likes of which we never saw back in the good old days of Cold War.
Our definition of winning (Putin out, tried as a war criminal, Russia broken to bits, NATO victorious) has precluded any sort of acceptable peace settlement. Think about it. And let us pray. Hard.
