The Problem With Voting Machine Certification In Arizona: People cannot trust elections when there are no reliable standards for voting machines, but the establishment likes it that way.

Certification of voting machine systems is a Pandora’s box. There are too many unforeseen means to exploit voting machine systems, from within and without, to justify the risk of abandoning paper ballots, same-day voting, and tabulation. It’s all about ethical behavior, feel-good policies, and sleight-of-hand con jobs—passing a chicken over a pot of boiling water and calling it chicken soup.

Maricopa County, Arizona, has many unresolved serious issues from the 2020 Election that raise questions about the election’s integrity and validity (here and here). The 2022 midterm results are also very troubling as well. See also, “Arizona Midterm Elections . . . Ballot Harvesting.”

In my professional experience investigating financial crimes, many employers in small businesses give the same person control of the business checkbook and responsibility for reconciling the checking statement. The owners then wonder why embezzlement happens.

Do our elections require security on par with our national strategic assets?

My answer is an unequivocal “yes” because of the severe implications to our national security if our voting system can be exploited. It’s all about managing acceptable risk. For example, there’s the risk “posed by Biden and his son’s alleged dealings with China…(e.g., was COVID a bio-weapon the CCP used either intentionally or accidentally to interfere with this election?)….”

During the 2020 election, COVID meant many things were ignored or exploited, e.g., voting machines, mass mailing early voting ballots, late suspicious ballot drops, and delays in counting that altered the final count. Consider this alleged vulnerability with ballot adjudication machines. See how that suggests fraud.

The media and government officials labeled anyone who questioned the results as an election denier. Notable election deniers who brought civil cases questioning the reliability of voting machine systems were sued for defamation. So much for free speech, as we experienced with COVID, Russiagate, the validity of Hunter’s laptop, the murder of Seth Rich and who has his laptop, and now election denial too? Only those murder organizations with large war chests can survive the lawfare battle and federal scrutiny and bullying

If the unreliability and uncertainty of the voting machines were costing Democrats elections, it would be fixed yesterday.

The proper standard for voting machines is to get rid of them.

I disagree. There are, in fact, reliable laws, rules and regulations for conducing an election. They simply need to be followed and enforced.

Just like the US Immigration laws the left is lying about. They say the immigration system is broken and we need immigration reform. BS! They broke the law by ignoring it. All they have to do is to follow the law and enforce it.

“All they have to do is to follow the law and enforce it.”

That’s pretty funny. We’re talking about Democrats here.

I get your point, the system could work.

Any system that is inherently non-transparent was created intentionally for corruption.

NO EARLY/MAIL IN VOTING!

I grew up as a military brat. My father was almost always on a ship or overseas at election time. Mail in voting was crucial for him.

“Paper ballots NO MACHINES, PERIOD!”

That is a recipe for huge fraud. It would take MONTHS to count votes by hand.

We need to run elections like credit card companies are run. Visa/MC/Amex/Discover process hundreds of millions of transactions EVERYDAY and almost never make a mistake. It is all done electronically with very little, as a measure of total money spent, fraud.

Issue a voter ID with a chip in it. Insert the ID into the machine. Cast the vote. Go home, log into your voter registration and check your vote.

People can trust elections as long as no democrats are allowed near one reliable standards for voting machines ensues.

Democrats have a long history of cheating from the day the party was formed aka the Fabian Society.

No system, high tech, low tech, or no tech, is invulnerable from fraud. Boss Tweed in New York was stuffing ballot boxes for the Democrats back during the Civil War. Democrats in Illinois and Texas stole the election for Kennedy in 1960, and the Democrats in New York stole the election for Carter in 1976.

“voting machines is to get rid of them” Nonsense. This is the 21st century. We use electronics for everything can potentially be hacked...even that fancy talking refrigerator...:) Voting by machine is going to continue.

Mail in voting isn’t going anywhere either. If you wish to do exactly what the “other” side claims, voter disenfranchisement, then go ahead and ban mail in voting. There are many reasons people can not vote in person. And frankly if I choose to vote by mail I don’t need to justify it to anyone...period. Claims of fraud using mail in voting are way overblown in my opinion.

Don’t confuse controlled mail in ballots with uncontrolled ballots.

Some states have secure mail in systems. Others, like CA, are a paper tornado.

RE: Mail in voting isn’t going anywhere either

When did Mail in voting become *THE* preferred way of voting?

AS I understand it, Prior to 2020, only Military personnel and those serving outside the USA mailed in their ballots. Everyoneone else voted IN PERSON.

I don’t recall having the problem we had in 2020 and 2022 then other than in the 2000 elections, but THAT was in a way related to voting machines ( hanging chads ).

The Following are Needed Voting Reforms

• Make Election Day a national holiday. Election Day voting only.

• Polls operate for 24 hours—midnight to midnight Eastern time—and open and shut simultaneously nationwide.

• Voters should not be swayed by results in states with earlier precinct closures. To minimize the influence voting, the media should be discouraged from reporting of totals, “calling” races, or reporting projections based on election day exit polls before the votes are completely tallied on election night.

• Voters must show photo ID. Only adult U.S. citizens can vote.

• Paper ballots only, which must be maintained for a physical audit trail. No electronic vote selection, or storage on USB drives.

• Full chain of custody of ballots certified by representatives of all parties.

• No ballot counting without witnesses.

• All ballots must be counted within 24 hours. Election officials who fail are held accountable.

• Totals reported may not exceed ballots cast. Hand-audit until it does (fraud vitiates everything).

• Voter rolls must be cleaned frequently and by the registration deadline: two weeks before Election Day. If officials won’t clean out the fraud, crowdsource it with public voter rolls.

• Eliminate electronic Voting Machines. There are too many unforeseen means to exploit voting machine systems, from within and without, to justify the risk of abandoning paper ballots, same-day voting, and tabulation. For the same reason businesses minimize embezzlement, they don’t give the same person control of the checkbook and responsibility for reconciling the checking statement.

• No more mass mail-in ballots. No ballot harvesting. Limit absentee ballots to the sick, infirm, the military on deployment and those who will be absent on Election Day (traveling). Must applied for in advance. We can no longer trust a system to obviously open to fraud.

Mail-in ballots defeat two of the principles of sound elections.

1) There is no secrecy of the ballot - there is no certainty that a mail-in ballot was not either bought or coerced by someone looking over the voter’s shoulder, or for that matter that it was not completed by a third party with the voter’s willing OR unwilling cooperation. The voting booth provides the privacy to eliminate that threat to the legitimacy of the election.

2) There is no verifiable chain of custody once the ballot is completed - Who did what with it after the ballot left the voter, particularly without voter ID?

Mail-in Ballot (harvesting) stats

• 8 states mass mail out ballots to everyone on the voter rolls which may or may not be clean (CA, CO, HI, NV, OR, UT, VT, WA).
• 25 states and D.C. allow someone chosen by the voter to return their ballot.
• 11 states specify who may return ballots on behalf of voters. Many of these laws specify that household members, caregivers, and/or family members may return ballots.
• 1 state specifies that only the voter may return their mail ballot.(Alabama)
• 13 states do not have laws specifying whether someone may return ballots on behalf of voters.
• 9 states name specific groups of individuals who may not return mail ballots
• 12 states place limits on how many ballots a person may return on others’ behalf or on how many voters for whom one may return ballots.
• 7 states and D.C. only allow another person to return a voter’s ballot if that voter meets specific criteria, such as having a disability or qualifying for an emergency ballot.
• 9 states—Alaska, Arizona, Florida, Kansas, Maryland, Missouri, Montana, New Mexico and Wyoming—allow specific small elections to be conducted by mail.

A Few Possible Way’s Mail in Ballet Fraud Happens

1) Mules deliver ballots
2) County election managers change the zip code of 10,000 voters on September 3. Ballots go out that week. Those ballots are undeliverable. Someone collects those valid ballots. On September 15th, those addresses are quietly changed back.
3) A thousand voters are changed from inactive, voted, then changed back.

There are several states that utilize mail in voting. I don’t see the problem frankly. If I choose to vote via mail if that option is available what’s the issue..?? If you choose to vote in person...fine...no issue there either.

I might be retired, live way out in the hills and can’t gt into town to vote....so am I now suddenly a second class citizen who does not get to exercise their right to vote...??

Machine tampering seems to be the go to excuse for politicians who lost. Never occurred to them that maybe their msg just wasn’t good enough or voters simply did not like them. Some were simply poor candidates. And if anybody is basing their fraud claims on “but the polls said”...that’s yet another poor excuse.

The lazy shouldn't vote. Would one make that trip if they needed milk and eggs? Sure they would.

Cast the vote. Go home, log into your voter registration and check your vote.

Cool except the info you access may not be the same as it was counted in the contest. That is the problem with computers they can tell you anything whether it be a truth or a lie, it reports what someone has told it to report.

The fact is computers have made fraud immensely easier to pull off and it doesn't require massive cheating just cheating in the right places.

“There are many reasons people can not vote in person.”

That is why we always had the absenteee ballot, with controls on it.

Vorting is not just a right, it is in many ways a responsibility. If you can go grocery shopping and don’t “have to” order your food electronically, then you can get off your butt and go vote ON ELECTION DAU.

Having voting “convernient” is not a “right”.

It’s not just the machines.

Folks should take a good look at who the people inspecting them are.

And not just in AZ.

Hint, hint...
