The US Postal Service on Tuesday announced its intention to deploy at least 66,000 electric delivery trucks by 2028, satisfying a key goal for the Biden administration’s climate agenda.
The shift toward electric vehicles, which follows pressure from environmental groups and a funding boost from the Inflation Reduction Act, will see the agency purchase at least 60,000 “Next Generation Delivery Vehicles,” of which at least 45,000 will be electric.
By 2026, the US Postal Service plans to purchase zero-emissions delivery trucks almost exclusively.

The mail will now get slower and less reliable.

...or burn up...
An electrician told me today that PA is experiencing power outages here and there due to EV recharging ... He believes it is just beginning.
Check back in 10 years.
We will be reading stories about how Postal EVs were crazy expensive, never worked as promised, had to be retired early - and are now poisoning a landfill somewhere.
Maybe. But it appears to me that we've drank the kool-aid.
Alright, Alright!!!
Nobody NEEDS mail!!!

Need to start putting pressure on these environmental groups just like they jump all over NRA. At least the right to bear arms is constitutional.
And how much money did they lose this year? Sigh.
Waiting for their batteries to start catching fire and folks’ mail gets torched...
bttt

But but but it works in the movies!!
C’mon man!!
I read an Artical about a year ago where the Postal Service stated that they were Not getting these electric vehicles.
All I can say is I hope they have horse drawn sleds so they can make their required deliveries during the winter months.
Of course the USPS will spend billions more for the electric delivery vehicles than a gas powered vehicle would cost.
If the electric vehicles and the gas powered vehicles were the same cost, then local delivery vehicles used in a city would be a reasonable deal.
But given the government, who buys $600 toilet seats, we know the EV’s will be many thousands more pricey.
“Fulfills” is in the title, “intention” is in the article body. Bit of a difference.
Dunno if EV mail trucks will slow delivery. The Chevy Bolt EUV, which can be bought for around $30K, has a range per Chevy of 240 miles. Car & Driver got 190 miles at 75mph on their open highway test loop. How far does the typical mailman drive on local deliveries per day? Not a whole lot I’ll bet.
I read that same article. We know that doesn't matter. Joe's handlers are calling the shots. They are beholden to the green lobby.
Remember when Mother Government bought all of those K-Cars for public/military employees?
ROFLMAO! Man, they were as ugly as military ‘birth control glasses,’ LOL!
