Democrats like Adam Schiff are scrambling to save censorship
nypost ^ | 12/18/2022 | Miranda Devine

Adam Schiff popped up on CNN’s “State of The Union” show Sunday morning to issue barely veiled threats to Elon Musk for trying to restore free speech on Twitter.

Ostensibly, the lame-duck chairman of the House Intelligence Committee joined Jake Tapper to crow about expected charges against Donald Trump on Monday from his January 6 star chamber.

But Schiff moved on to complain about the “big problem right now with social media companies and their failure to moderate content and the explosion of hate on Twitter, the banning of journalists on Twitter.”

Then he suggested ominously that Twitter and social media companies may not continue to enjoy “immunity from responsibility and liability.”

In other words, keep policing free speech as an arm of the federal government or watch your business go up in smoke.

Schiff is a calculated propagandist, who lies under oath as easily as breathing, and knowingly peddles misinformation to Congress and to media outlets like CNN and MSNBC, whose gullible hosts keep bringing him back on their shows to mislead their audiences.

In the dying days of his powerful reign as overseer of the nation’s intelligence agencies, abusing his access to the nation’s secrets, Schiff’s final assignment is to preserve the censorship regime his side of politics entrenched across Big Tech.

‘Cascading failure’

On Tuesday, he and three other Dems he roped in wrote a menacing letter “as part of our ongoing oversight efforts” to Nick Clegg, president of global affairs at Meta (Facebook’s new name), warning that, if the company went down Twitter’s path of free speech, the consequences would be dire. “Dangerous and unfounded election denial content” must be kept off the platform.

Paying the overheads of an FBI operation inside Twitter without said services being put out for bid and contract is illegal.

Meet the ex-CIA agents deciding Facebook’s content policy
By Alan MacLeod (Posted Jul 14, 2022)
Facebook
It is an uncomfortable job for anyone trying to draw the line between “harmful content and protecting freedom of speech. It’s a balance”, Aaron says. In this official Facebook video, Aaron identifies himself as the manager of “the team that writes the rules for Facebook”, determining “what is acceptable and what is not.” Thus, he and his team effectively decide what content the platform’s 2.9 billion active users see and what they don’t see.
Aaron is being interviewed in a bright warehouse-turned-studio. He is wearing a purple sweater and blue jeans. He comes across as a very likable, smiley person. It is not an easy job, of course, but someone has to make those calls. “Transparency is incredibly important in the work that I do,” he says.
Aaron is CIA. Or at least he was until July 2019, when he left his job as a senior analytic manager at the agency to become senior product policy manager for misinformation at Meta, the company that owns Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. In his 15-year career, Aaron Berman rose to become a highly influential part of the CIA. For years, he prepared and edited the president of the United States’ daily brief, “wr[iting] and overs[eeing] intelligence analysis to enable the President and senior U.S. officials to make decisions on the most critical national security issues,” especially on “the impact of influence operations on social movements, security, and democracy,” his LinkedIn profile reads. None of this is mentioned in the Facebook video.

That is nothing new.

In 1998 Hillary Clinton was advocating that ‘the internet needed a gatekeeper’.

Even then some saw the good and evil potentials of the internet.

I just looked over the list of House Committees. I don't think he's suitable for any one of them. Not even the Joint Committee on Printing.

“Adam schitt and Liz Cheney will be dashed on the rocks of history”

Not by any act of violence, just the actions of the tide and the wind and their own stupidity and hubris.*

* Watch out. The Federal Bureau of Instigation may start tracking you, if they aren’t already.

Great. The only danger is to your narrative and if there is evidence then it won't be unfounded.

Thanks, Schiff for Brains.
