A new explosion and inferno has hit a strategic Russian oil and gas field amid suspicions key facilities are being targeted in sabotage attacks linked to Vladimir Putin's war in Ukraine.

Armageddon-like flames shot into the sky from the giant blaze at the Markovskoye condensate treatment unit in the biting minus 22C cold.

Dramatic footage shows the scene from hell caused by the 'jet fire' in the east Siberian district of Ust-Kut, Irkutsk region.

At least seven people suffered injuries in the blast at Angarsk which was in the same region as a blast three days earlier that was compared to an earthquake or plane crash for its force.

A breathless worker at the Ust-Kut is heard on a video saying: 'Vanya we are f*****, the plant exploded.

'They told us to evacuate.

'And as we started fleeing, it exploded.'

The Russian authorities rushed out a statement to declare that the blaze was under control, even though it was clearly still burning in the remote region.

I fear if this is Ukraine or CIA/MI6 Russia will be sending agents to do the same to us—Or use paid foreigners—like Iranians, Iraqis or Cubans. We better tighter security at refineries and pipelines, or electrical plants. If Putin offered $10,000 to anyone who would do this—I bet many Americans would be tempted to get “Evil Fossil Fuel Bad Guys” by torching a refinery or two.

Oil refineries often have fires and explosions all over the world. I doubt this was sabotage. It’s very cold where this happened, so a pipe may have burst, or it could be shoddy maintenance.

Ukraine will not “go quietly into the night”.

But all the disenfranchised Ukrainian voters in the East and South who disagreed with the Revolutionary overthrow of their country will be killed, buried, and forgotten? You must be a college professor!

Their other option is to admit their errors and get their army back home where it belongs.

Not that I expect Puta to have any integrity and do something sane like that.

We've had Ukrainian activists/saboteurs on call in Ukraine for years - thy love to go into Russia when called on to stir the dust of any conflict. Of course Zelensky will do whatever is necessary to get Nato/Us in a war with Russia....

I am less inclined to suspect Ukrainian operatives with limited resources and training and experience in foreign field ops, and more inclined to ask hard questions about what the CIA is up to. This strikes me as being more of the same of what we saw with the Nordstream sabotage.

Ukraine has lots of people, native Russian speakers, easily able to “pass” in Russia. Ukraine has plenty of human resources in this way. Made easier, probably, by the ethnic diversity of Russia.

The CIA on the other hand has long since torpedoed their own humint resources, between getting penetrated by both Russian and Chinese intelligence and having their assets “blown”, and a general lack of interest in this stuff.

The Ukrainians have pulled off a large number of such operations, the most spectacular of course being the Crimean bridge.
