America’s Wealthiest Cities Show We’re Rapidly Becoming a “Mad Max Society”
Discern Report ^ | 12/18/22 | Michael Snyder

Posted on 12/18/2022 6:09:37 PM PST by CFW

The largest cities in the United States are becoming cesspools of crime, drugs, violence and homelessness, and no matter what “solutions” our politicians come up with the problems just continue to get even worse. Sadly, this is even happening in the wealthiest cities in the whole country. New York City is the financial capital of the entire globe, and over the past two decades San Francisco has been swimming in giant mountains of tech industry money.

But today the streets of both cities look like something out of a post-apocalyptic horror movie. If things are this bad while economic conditions are still relatively stable, what will those streets look like two years from now when economic conditions are far worse?

Most people are ignoring the decay and assuming that at some point, things will improve. They will not. Not unless Federal, State, and local governments start doing the hard things necessary to stop the decay. Criminals need to go to prison. The mentally ill homeless need to be institutionalized. I don't see that happening anytime soon. Do you?

Well, generally dystopian/orwellian, at least.

It’s like the old movie “War Games” — “The only way to win is not to play.”

The cities can’t be fixed by voting or other “reasonable” measures — so more and more productive people will just leave. Why volunteer to be a victim?

A society in decline!

And we’re lecturing the rest of the world on “rule-based order.”

Go figure.

#1: "Criminals need to go to prison. The mentally ill homeless need to be institutionalized."

Hard punishment with no do-overs. No free on bail. No more 23 arrests and no jail time. No parole because "Covid".

At the core is not holding the criminal race class accountable. Now they demand "reparations". For what? Should I get a pension because my relatives were in the Civil War?

CFW, you have it right:

"Criminals need to go to prison. The mentally ill homeless need to be institutionalized."

Richest maybe, but at this point it starts to feel like funny, phony money. Cities with less money use it more wisely.

Criminals, drug addicts and homeless people are being enabled. You don’t discourage behavior by insentivizing it.

Newsom or Hochul couldn’t give a rat’s ass about helping anyone besides themselves and their friends. NYC can burn as far as she’s concerned.

Most of these problems could be solved if the country got back to the RULE OF LAW. Start there.

I don’t understand why any normal person would live in such a place. I know a lady in Seattle who has a “box receiving service” where her deliveries go. She drives there and picks up her deliveries. She says if you aren’t standing on your porch when a box arrives, it will be stolen by people who follow the delivery trucks.

They do not come up with solutions. Everything they do is a deliberate effort to make things worse. I don't know where it ends - vigilante gangs taking the law into their own hands? It doesn't seem they are leaving us much choice. First, criminals have to be made to realize that the police are these for their protection from vengeful citizens. That will be the first step in turning things around.
