The Biden administration is vacating a decades-old decision to revoke the security clearance of World War II-era scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer, who is known today as the “father of the atomic bomb.”
In a written statement first shared with The Hill, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said the 1954 decision barring Oppenheimer’s clearance went through a “flawed process” and noted that there was evidence of bias.
“In 1954, the Atomic Energy Commission revoked Dr. Oppenheimer’s security clearance through a flawed process that violated the Commission’s own regulations. As time has passed, more evidence has come to light of the bias and unfairness of the process that Dr. Oppenheimer was subjected to while the evidence of his loyalty and love of country have only been further affirmed,” Granholm said.
“I am pleased to announce the Department of Energy has vacated the Atomic Energy Commission’s 1954 decision In the Matter of J. Robert Oppenheimer,” she added.
Oppenheimer directed the Manhattan Project’s Los Alamos National Laboratory when the atomic bomb was developed during World War II.
His security clearance was later revoked by the Atomic Energy Commission, a federal agency that predated the Energy Department, with commissioners arguing he was a “security risk” amid allegations that he was disloyal to the U.S.
Oppenheimer’s past connections with communism and communists also played a role. His hearing before the commission in 1954 occurred during the Red Scare, a time where U.S. politics was dominated by anti-communist sentiment.

there must be something coming down the pike at them that they think is dependent upon that precedent
As the most brilliant Democrat said “What difference does it make”
They plan on re-instating his voting rights now too.
Thanks for reminding me about how stupid the voters are in the Pugetopolis area.

As you can see, most of the people who live outside of the 3 county Pugetopolis voted for Tiffany Smiley. Murray won 12 of the 39 counties in Washington State. There must be a way to equalize the dependent class in big city/state cesspools that ruin many coastal states where the citizens have been subjugated into the communist realms those urban areas have become.
History must be rewritten because the International Communists were the “Good Guys.”
Sniffer is quick.
The left certainly has a long memory.
Who’s next on their list? Sacco and Vanzetti?
Poor revision history there Hill, but I guess we can expect this poor propaganda
I would only add the names of FDR's cabinet, a cabal of fellow travelers...
Spent many an hour, before & during WWII, listening to both my grandfathers endlessly bitching about the communists and communist supporters surrounding FDR...
Particularly when FDR imposed direct theft of American wages in the form of a "Temporary Deduction of Taxes From Paychecks"... Yikes! The camel's nose, neck, head, and chest were in the tent...
"Oppenheimer’s brother was an identified CPUSA member as I recall. So we’re others surrounding him over the years.
Should be a lot of additional information in books by top government intelligence personnel including Herbert Romerstein (and co-authors in some of his books), historians including John Haynes, Harvey Khlers, their once Soviet citizen historians co-authors and probably some people from the British MI6, or even the Israeli Mossad.
The other big US security risk in the nuclear weapons/programs was Harold Urey, who may have protected Soviet spies, as well as US Communists who worked in th e nuclear programs. This has still not been thoroughly investigated, believe me!
Remember, the Democrats and their leftist allies in Congress and in State/Local Governments ordered police intelligence files destroyed in the 1970s in alliance with hardcore leftist Sen. Frank Church (D- Id?), leader of the infamous Church Committee which did a tremendous amount of deliberate damage to out internal security capabilities.
This also included Military Intelligence files, a major source of information on communists and their operations in the US and abroad.
Just ask yourself who gained the most from the destruction of these specific types of files, and why did the Democrats take the political leader in doing it. If you look at the background of some of them, Rep. Abzug (D-NY and reportedly an underground member of the CPUSA), Rep. John Conyers Jr., (D-Mich, also a top CPUSA affiliate, along with Rep. George Crockett Jr, D-Mich), Sen. Alan Cranston (D-CA, Office of War Information), and others, you will begin to understand What has been going on since the 1930s and has been covered up since then.
McCarthy was right. Government and other institutions were and are shot though with communist infiltrators.
a time where U.S. politics was dominated by anti-communist sentiment.
As opposed to today, when the democRAT Party is openly communist.
NO!!!!!!
Mine was a rhetorical question. I agree with you fully!
p
It seems our ‘intelligence’ money is being wasted on people who don’t protect us from commies, from North Korea, from Iran, Cuba or from illegals... Or even the drug addicted whore monger sons of ‘elites’ working to sell out the country.
But they’re very concerned about ‘conservative speech’... and the need to but their boots on the faces of conservative Americans.
How charming.
A very god suggestion or guess.
The "litterati" who later research has shown in so many cases were fellow travelers or even witting agents for the Soviets were enticed and run by Will Müntzenberg - a Leninist and later Stalinist agent. One of his first successes was the Sacco and Vanzetti case.
If you have not read "Double Lives: Stalin, Willi Münzenberg and the Seduction of the Intellectuals" by Stephen Koch I highly recommend it.
I assume you are as sarcastic as I was above, and I fully agree!
Check out the book I suggested as an excellent read in post #55. Apart from revealing the stupidity, venality, and loathing of our free societies by some of the most celebrated “intellectuals” of the last century, the author also shows how not only “the intellectuals” but also our intelligence services were completely fooled by the Soviets. The history of the inter-war years and the run-up to WW II ought to be rewritten.
Communist Infiltration of the U.S. Government as Detected by Venona
Thanks for relating your memory of that inteview. I do not remember reading about that in the Mitrokhin files, but if it was as you say edited out of the book I wouldn’t. I wonder if one can find the interview somwhere. I guess it was on tele, or did you read it in a magazine?
It was in an article. If I come across it again, I will email you a copy.
Ahhh ... Venona ...
That’s how we KNOW that McCarthy was right.
