OREGONIAN ERASES OLD CRIME ARTICLES TO PROTECT CRIMINALS (Oregonian Newspaper)

The Oregonian Editorial Board gave a big update to their Clean Slate program this month. Some of their goals are to (1) cease posting most criminal mug shots (2) stop reporting on minor crimes and (3) removing old crime stories as a way to help criminals restart their lives.

On stopping reporting on current minor crime stories, The Oregonian said…
“…we decided that the lasting effect of publicity for relatively minor scrapes with the law can create an unfair and outsized burden on someone trying to find a job or apartment. Our decision was guided by several factors: Unlike in the past, our archives remain available for many years through search engines; we used to report on minor crimes more often than we currently do and rarely followed up; and society has shifted toward a new approach to helping people rebuild their lives after a criminal conviction.”

Not every one needs to know every little detail of ones life.

Many records need not be carry around ones neck for ever.

“...we used to report on minor crimes more often than we currently do...”

Perhaps because ‘minor crimes’ used to be somewhat rare as opposed today when they are so common as to not constitute ‘news’. Now, why would that be?

Man, if I ever decide to embrace a life of crime, I’m moving to Oregon. It’s clearly an amusement park for psychopaths.

Two reasons for this.
One, most violent crime is Oregon are melanated peoples.
Two, the majority of the rest of the crime is perpetrated by blue haired antifa types.

Every major newspaper in America is in some library somewhere on microfilm or something. This doesn’t change anything expect where people will look for the information.

Public records still exist. If the Oregonian wants social justice and vanity points that’s fine, but this doesn’t change squat on a background check.

They did it here in our local rag when at first they said you could not mix and match Moderna and Pfizer,
Then they said you could.
THEN a LOT of people got covid.
THEN they erased months of slander and lies.
THEN I was banned.
