That’s a bizarre statement to say the least. Which is odd from him. The 2nd amendment stands as written... PERIOD. As for kids being a problem as to what they’re taught and the parents that put up with that BS.... I don’t give a rats ass... Shoot em all.. the 2nd will survive with people who actually get it and they will respect others rights to do the same.

On the other hand, the latest FBI crime statistics document that 60% of the murders in the USA are caused by 6% of our population. Black males. Over 90% of their victims are also black.
Defend Democrats and pigeonhole black males as a whole. Never mind defending the FBI. Fascinating.

I agree with that general statement - but the out-of-context headline and cherry picked comments about school shootings make it appear Gohmert believes outlawing guns would prevent shooting deaths - which is utter nonsense.
The Left loves to focus on the tiny fraction of shooting deaths involving troubled white ADHD kids from the suburbs who shoot up their school. They like to focus on those shootings because the high school kid probably got the gun from their parents who are law abiding citizens - and it’s these legally owned guns in particular that the gun grabbers are really after.
Never mind the vast majority of gun deaths, which are inner city black-on-black gang shootings, drug-related shootings which would not be deterred by prohibiting gun ownership because the guns were illegally obtained anyway.
The far Left doesn’t care how many kids get shot.
The far Left wants to take guns away from middle class red-state Americans so we won’t be able to defend ourselves from leftist tyranny. They plan to keep tightening the screws on us until they squeeze every penny from us. They know at some point we’ll revolt so they want to make sure we are disarmed before that happens.
I would have hoped Gohmert would know better than to let his words be twisted and taken out of context like this.. he seems like a smart guy but this is very disappointing.
There are so many restrictions on purchasing or using a gun it is no more an inalienable right than free speech is because people are willing to accept reasonable restrictions.

Adams and the rest of the framers understood all too well what would happen if we stopped being a moral society. I wonder if they would be surprised if they realized that it lasted THIS long.
