As much as I think Col Schlichter is one of the best, he was beaten to the punch by a few decades by South Park, in an episode on this very topic, called the Death Camp of Tolerance.
Mr. Garrison realizes that getting fired for being homosexual could allow him to sue the school for millions. He decides to perform outrageous sex acts in the classroom when he takes over for Mr. Mackey, hiring his partner Mr. Slave as his teaching assistant. Although the boys complain about Garrison's inappropriate activities, their parents mistakenly think their boys are intolerant of homosexuality.
Although the parents finally understand what their kids were telling them about and are indeed shocked at Garrison's behavior, they still cannot bring themselves to criticize it, as they fear being branded "intolerant". When the people continue to call Garrison and Mr. Slave "courageous" for their actions, Garrison finally breaks down and shouts at them,
Mr. Garrison Look, this kind of behavior should not be acceptable from a teacher!
Man 6 But the mu-se-um tells us to be to-le-rant.
Mr. Garrison: Tolerant, but not stupid! Look, just because you have to tolerate something doesn't mean you have to approve of it!..."Tolerate" means you're just putting up with it! You tolerate a crying child sitting next to you on the airplane or, or you tolerate a bad cold. It can still piss you off!
