This didn't have much to do with the voters getting pissed - we just had the midterms so the Senators were all safe for awhile.

This was about having enough senators who opposed this on their own.

It's a good sign that the doom and gloom crowd needs to wake up and realize that not all is lost. Democrats have been pushing mass amnesty for illegals for decades, and Republicans have never let it through. After the betrayal of the 1986 deal, there are enough who won't let it happen.
