Your conjured-up evil masterminds are clever enough to trick putin into war but simultaneously stupid enough to want an extinction-level nuclear armageddon. I would sooner believe that covid was supposed to achieve this reduction in population, but in that case the elites would have a vaccine that actually works.
I’m going to continue to apply Occam’s razor, and conclude that the reason russia invaded Ukraine is because putin is a deluded megalomaniac who thought that he would easily grab territory and resources. That is a story as old as mankind, been repeated many times before and will be repeated many times again. No need to invoke imaginary supervillains.
