Probably a silly thought but the other day an idea came to me: what if U.S. Senator Sinema’s defection from the Democrat Party was the first rat jumping off a sinking ship. Could she have an idea that election fraud allegations/investigations/court rulings are going to turn decidedly against the Democrats and she’s trying to put distance between herself and the party?

I think she became an Independent purely for selfish reasons -- the Democrats won't be able to primary her for her disloyalty, and if they run a Dem candidate, the D votes will be split and the Republican would win (in a fair election).

You’ve got it! While Sinema has an independent streak, she’s still a liberal.

Exactly, she was likely to be primaried from the left by Ruben Gallego and she obviously thought she would lose.

AZ is not Utah, there will be a democrat nominee for the seat but if Gallego or anyone else viable runs that *should* guarantee a GOP win in 3-way race. Sinema is playing a game of chicken hoping to scare Gallego away.

If you think about it’s shocking to see such brazen disloyalty from a member of the rat party but she is a dangerous creature after all.
