Pffft. I disagree that Pence had that authority. Others disagree. That’s proper grounds for clarification and doesn’t mean anything except that there is a disagreement. I hate to agree publicly with Shumer but there it is

If they leave the tax code exactly as it is now, there is going to be severe disappointment in the RAT base. Almost a 10k refund drop in single, two kids under 17.

As usual, NOTHING to secure our southern border! @#$%^&! Congress has ONE JOB!

Also, flushing more money down the crapper for Ukraine and no whisper of helping AMERICAN Veterans in any way, shape or form.

I absolutely LOATHE these people.

If every reference to slavery is removed from the United States Constitution then what is to prevent the legalization of slavery?

Republicans need to put a stop to these omnibus spending bills and revert back to the regular order of sending separate department-specific budget bills to the Senate.

Take Schumer's power away by no longer giving him these "must pass" bills to load up with Democrat pork.

No No, Absolutely NO! Let the government shut down. I don’t care, and I am a fed employee. We do not want that garbage rolled into a defense spending bill. Take out all the garbage and let the funding bill stand on its own merits, then vote on the rest one bill at a time. THAT’S THE HONEST WAY TO DO THEIR BUSINESS!

Fact they are forcing a law about it means that the VP had the choice and power to toss out the Biden slate of electors from the Fraud states.

once again, Trump was right.

"Very, very bad idea. Choosing the President is a reserved power of State legislatures."

Sure, The feds steal ever power from the states, and thereby the people.

"We the people" better get a handle on this problem before it's ever lastingly too late..if it ain't already.....

Yepp ... apparently it wasn’t settled law despite their 24/7 echo chamber that Trump was a threat and danger to the Constitution for having a different legal position.

And passing the law now doesn’t settle it either as it appears that Congress is infringing on executive power, i.e. separation of powers.

If the demonkkraps had the numbers in the House in 2020 to select the POTUS, there is no doubt in my mind that they would have done it. But they did not because despite their legislative majority, they would have been in the minority for the electoral selection process. Lukewarm, fly on the head Pence was a dunce at best, and at worst - a deep stater whose job (like Mitch’s wife) was to keep close tabs on Trump for 4 years so he could be taken out in 2020 by whatever means necessary.

You would give the Executive power over their replacements?

Suppose Florida in 2000 had (as they should have done) sent two slates of Electors (Bush and Gore) to the Secretary of State for submission to Congress for counting.

Are you seriously saying that Al Gore had the power to reject the Bush electors?
