The uniparty is tied to this, so it is just as much 'Rats, as it is the GOPe. At the national level, there are very few patriots, and not enough to "go after this".
Even if a very damning story comes out about the FBI, what's anyone going to do about it? The FBI might scapegoat some underling at best, as they did recently with Agent Timothy Thibault. But even Thibault will probably pop back up in a new position or become a well-paid contractor.
And don't look to the DOJ. It's as political as the FBI.

It was a botched kidnapping, or a botched sexual assault.
