According to our “media” and their mouthpieces, ALL democrat politicians are pristine, pure as the white driven snow. Even their grift and lies are pure
Seek help.
yes...but no one will ever convince me DeSantis (or any Republican, ever) won Miami-Dade!
Many out of staters have told me they like VA Gov. Youngkin.
As a Trump supporter I’m waiting til DeSantis does something substantive about the RCV-enabled voting machines, early voting, and mail-in voting.
All of which are still in use I’m Florida.
And make me wonder why Deep State chose not to mess with his election.
“Ron DeSantis looks to be bought.”
That’s a key reason why Trump.
Trump is self made with no strings.
If you’re gonna run for against the deep state for president of the United States, you’d better goddamn *know*. This sort of thing used to be civilized.
They’ll have Desantis breathing out of a tube in prison for child abuse by spring 2023.
It’s Trump, they are scared to death of.
Nobody else can or is willing to give America back to We the People (not that they all deserve it, but we do).
Both good and bad. While he became a politician in the literal sense, he doesn't have the thinking of a politician, and is not beholden to anyone as every other pol in America is. Perhaps this explains WHY he failed to develop those skills.
Well, we know Trump can win (2016), we know DeSantis could win as well. I don't think that has nearly as much to do with actually winning, however, as who the establishment will ALLOW to win, those that count the votes and all.
👍
A Republican State Senator is trying to get Reedy Creek back to Disney. It isn’t DeSantis.
Yes, that is part of it. Who establishment wants to win must be considered. Because losing candidate has zero power to change anything. Look at Trump, he is harrassed non-stop by DOJ, can’t nominate a single judge, can’t sign a singel Executive Order.
You are correct. Just like if aguy is correct on 95% of the issue, we call him a RINO. You don't hear the name calling (DINO) from Democrats. We got to stop eating each other up...
Beating... not eating...
What drivel!
Never even heard of this “newspaper”.
It must be a homo-commie rag.
Anthony looks like a very nice fellow.
I bet he is good to his mother.
I would also gather that he has a large vintage Judy Garland record collection.
Why do this? We have posters here doing this to every candidate. People here were trashing Oz and Walker and Barnette and Cruz and Masters and Lake and Palin and numerous others. The Democrats don’t do that. This is why they win even though they suck.
No, they won't. DeSantis is too disciplined to make the kind of pointlessly inflammatory statements they need to take him down.
Can you name a single verbal gaffe/misstatement/"wait, I need to clarify this" moment he's had?
>DeSantis is extraordinarily careful with his messaging. He always says exactly what he means to say, and no more.
More than can be said about Trump.
Welcome to the big leagues, Ron.
Trump is beholden to voters just like every other politician is, and that's one thing he doesn't fully grasp. I think his view of politics is that it is just an extension of his TV show, and he equates viewers to voters. So, he uses the same methods and tactics to get voters that he did to get viewers.
The problem is that while a TV show can be wildly successful by appealing strongly to only 25% of potential viewers, a presidentual candidate must appeal to a majority of potential voters. So an approach/style that gains you an enthusiastic core of viewers/voters but alienates even more will still produce a very successful TV show, but an unsuccessful election campaign. And that problem is magnified when the value of voter enthusiasm in getting people to the polls is watered-down by laws making it easier to vote.
The other political skill he doesn't seem to grasp is the importance of building and maintaining political coalitions, which are basically temporary alliances that include people who may be with you on certain issues but not others. Without that willingness to build and maintain coalitions, you can't be successful long-term.
Trump falls down there because he can't help but view anyone who opposes him on a particular issue as an enemy, even if that person is willing to support him on other issues. The two most consequential accomplishments of his presidency were tax reform and the judiciary. The former could not have been accomplished without Paul Ryan, and the latter could not have been accomplished without Mitch McConnell. Yet as soon as either of those guys crossed him on anything, he began with the insults and permanently alienated both of them. And he did that with others as well.
To his supporters, that's a good thing because "we're getting rid of the RINO's.". But the reality is that you're never going to have a majority with you on every issue. Even Reagan didn't despite winning by much larger margins than did Trump. But he didn't make personal enemies out of those who opposed him on some issues, so he could still work with them on others.
But to Trump, you're an enemy if you ever cross him. And what that leads to, inevitably, is an ever-increasing pool of enemies, and an ever-shrinking pool of friends/allies.
