New statistics released by the Los Angeles County Department of Health on Thursday project that, with current COVID-19 case rate growth and more and more hospital beds being taken by COVID-19 patients, the County is now on track to bring back a County-wide indoor mask mandate if rates don’t go down this month.

“We are seeing a rapid acceleration again,” said Los Angeles County Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer on Thursday. “This is the time to put that mask back on. In order for this to be an effective strategy that allows there to be as high compliance as we can get, you do need to give people time. It will be really hard to get back into putting on face coverings. Nobody really likes them, we understand that. We look at the evidence — and it’s very, very compelling — that if people do wear well-fitting, high-filtration masks, they have more protection. And they afford others more protection from transmission.”

Do not put school children back in masks. They don't work, kids don't learn and it makes the Chinese mask manufacturers rich.

There’s nothing worse than trying to learn AP Spanish when BOTH the student and teacher are masked. I dislike mask mandates even more than I dislike Covid “vaccine” mandates.

Oh good. Please describe “Well fitting, high filtration masks”

Then describe the protocol for wearing them.

People don’t wear seatbelts correctly and they sure didn’t and still don’t wear masks correctly.

I stopped going to McDonalds because the people at drive through have probably been wearing the same mask all week/month without changing them

The people in LA and everywhere else need to stand up and tell them to go to Hell.

Noncompliance is the only option.

$$$moking gun.

From Mike Pence’s new book...

if 3M could be afforded legal protection by Congress, we could sell them across the country. So after the meeting ended, I grabbed Walz by the elbow. I told him he would have to call Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer—Congress was quickly putting together a covid emergency bill—and tell them we needed the Democratic leaders to put language into a bill that would provide temporary protection for companies such as 3M to sell their masks for medical use, which he did.

Good of you Mike to point that out.

Sell them masks !!!

Not to worry, the spit the cook put on your burger will get you first.

Seriously, a life lived in fear is a life wasted. Perhaps the answer is to shutter all your doors and windows, and even the mail slot in your door, and live the rest of your life in total seclusion with only your internet to connect you to the outside world. But wait, I think Fauchi said that a new strain of Covid may be transmitted through the web! Oh NO! What will you do? Quick, put a mask on you router and phone.

“Zero covid” was always medically and physically bankrupt. Even masks are bankrupt as we knew all the way back to 1981 with Neil Orr’s seminal study on the matter in operating rooms where everyone was a trained professional. That’s the best possible test environment with no confounders, since everyone is trained and all the things in the room are sterilized — and everyone scrubs in before entering.

Yet the results were what they were: The operating rooms where masks were not in use had decreased infection rates — in the same hospital.

This study spurred several others, including one where they put micrometer-sized spheres in the masks before people donned them. They then found them in the wounds of the patients, which proved that (1) whatever the physician or nurse had in their mouth, nose and lungs was getting through and around the mask and (2) it wound up on and in the patients. This should have settled the debate immediately, but despite being reported, peer-reviewed and published all of that was ignored when Covid showed up
