I don’t support crackdowns on religion however Tucker is extremely disengenuous when he discusses this subject.

Zelensky and Putin are fighting over the future of Ukraine. Putin insists that people be taught Russian and the Russian orthodox religion.

Zelensky is trying to eliminate the Russian influence and the Russian based religion.

It’s not pretty but it goes deeper than what Tucker is telling his audience.

Tucker’s attacks on Zelensky are almost childishly shallow. For example attacking him for wearing a sweatshirt.

I will concede that there is more to this story than Tucker presented.

However, there is a troubling pattern emerging in the Ukraine with media and other entities that question Zelensky.

It’s not all “Russian” propaganda and the regime there has used a fair amount of “emergency actions” to consolidate power in a very undemocratic manner.

Then again, our government behaved in the same manner during Covid.

Tucker was also one of the few to point that out so kudos to him for being skeptical of the overwhelming media narratives.

I wonder what the motivation is for various elements of the US right to be so committed to the anti-Ukrainian side. I can understand isolationism as a political or strategic position, but why the need to shade the truth?
The motivation for the Russians or Ukrainians to lie is obvious. I can even understand why someone that wants to see the Russian military degraded by a long drawn out war or that wants to see Russia destabilized by a humiliating loss would shade the truth, but I don’t understand what US conservatives gain by seeing Ukraine lose.
Surely just a reflexive opposition to whatever the Democrats support is insufficient to explain this.

Tucker has had his good moments, but this appears not to be one of them.

Tucker Carlson and most pundits/news readers of any stripe, always have one eve on the ratings and respond accordingly.

Perhaps Mr Carlson wants to purchase his own island and needs some extra cash?

One of the few things you’ve said here at FR I would totally agree with, Williams. You’ve hit on the truth.

Zelensky IS trying to eliminate the “russian based religion” in Ukraine which, unfortunately for Ukrainian Orthodox people, is THEIR religion, and has been for very long time.

Can the one worlders destroy Eastern Orthodoxy? We will see, but I don’t think so.

Zelensky continues to provoke.

He and Ukraine are holding NATO support as a hostage. What Zelensky and Ukraine will do in anger, when Zelensky does not get what he wants, is a big problem.

There are - or were before Zelensky’s attacks - a sizable number of ethnic Russians and people whose primary language was Russian living in certain areas of the Ukraine. It was the Ukrainian attacks on these people that were one of these the things that provoked the war with Russia, which wanted the agreements regarding the border regions to be respected.

Since then, Zelensky has banned all political parties but his own, has purged his government of anyone who wanted negotiations, accusing them of treason, and has gone after any Russians unfortunate enough to still be living there. Putin did not insist that people be taught Russian and the Russian Orthodox religion, which is actually the same as the Ukrainian Orthodox religion, but that the Russian residents of these areas be allowed to speak and learn their language for their own use and be able to continue to be part of the Russian Orthodox Church or one of the branches of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (which I think is under the Patriarch of Moscow).

This attack on the Russian Orthodox Church is just part of Zelensky’s ongoing ethnic cleansing. Interestingly, one of the things that he doesn’t like about the Russian Orthodox Church is its opposition to gay marriage and transgenders. Theoretically, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church should be opposed to the LGBTQRSTUV agenda too, but maybe they’ve learned to keep their mouths shut on the subject.

Zelensky is a willing (and bought and paid for) tool of the Democratic Party. I think that the provocation of hostilities was originally meant as a sort of Wag the Dog moment to distract from something the Biden had done…or maybe it was the revelations over Hunter, who was very involved in setting up the whole mess with Ukraine. But it got out of hand, Zelensky loved the limelight, and then Biden, or his handlers, at least, thought that it wasn’t a bad idea to keep it going as a distraction. Wag the Dog version 2.0, bigger and better, and they don’t care how many Russians or Ukrainians die in the process or how many hundreds of our billions they spend on whipping it up.

Sorry, Zelensky is no hero. Putin isn’t either, but this whole conflict would have been completely avoidable, except that it was decided that it would be useful to the Democratic Party.

Zelensky doesn’t want to eliminate Russian-based religion.

There is no such thing as Russian-based religion, there is Russian-based Orthodox Christian CHURCH, which since 1917 has been a NKVD/GPU/KGB/FSB department. As such, this church is a legitimate target at the time of war, despite what a television personality in the US thinks or proclaims.

Tucker uses fact free gaslighting and Alinsky tactics. Several Ukrainians have offered to go on his show and explain their position. Tucker has refused because he isn’t interested in genuine debate. He is a fake and a fraud. His continued courting of the secret servers in Germany fruitcake caucus is just marginalizing MAGA further. Are we tired of losing yet? Thanks Tucker!

Tucker Carlson has been more and more hysterical because he’s no longer the #1 rated show on Fox News.

The Five is now the #1 rated show on Fox News and has been beating Tucker by 200,000-400,000 viewers each day for months.

Ratings desperation as Tucker’s audience continues to decline over his Putin puffing.
