The battle for Bakhmut has become a bloodbath for both sides as Russia steps up its attempts to take what used to be a quaint, tree-lined city. Ukrainian defense officials said Moscow is losing around 50 soldiers a day to maintain a slow, bruising advance to reach the city’s easternmost gates.
Snip
If the Russians break through to take control of Bakhmut, it would open a path to the political and economic centers of Slovyansk and Kramatorsk in the Ukrainian-held portions of the Donbas area, once one of the country’s main industrial regions. Moscow tried to seize the area in a pincer movement in the early days of the war and into the summer. After a lightning offensive, Ukraine regained much of the lost ground. Now, as Russia slowly burns through its artillery stockpiles, defense analysts said, its troops are advancing once again but on tank and foot. This time it is so President Vladimir Putin can tout a rare victory to the Russian people after a succession of withdrawals, most recently in Kherson, giving it outsize importance to the Kremlin, analysts said.

Not in that article!
Is Ukrainazi propaganda?
yes, it is Uke propaganda.
No mention is made of the fact that Ukraine is more than 80% dark now due to missile strikes on power substations. Millions of people without light, heat, and water. The content that is in the article is slanted, the perceptions of who is winning are forced/jerry rigged to make it like the Uke’s stand a chance.
The Ukrainains do not stand a chance of winning this conflict, but they do stand a good chance of dying in this pointless war as Zelensky keeps the lie alive (that he can win) to keep the ‘foreign aid’ flowing in to prop up the Ukraine. I think the current rate of funding from the US alone so far is at least 160 million dollars. Just collecting tax payer money - laundering it, and redistributing it to ‘elites.’
But Russian troops are getting killed at a high rate to try to take Bakhmut. So where’s the propaganda?
As long as Ukraine has bodies to throw into this conflict, NATO and the US welcome it.
LMAO thanks, I have snot and coffee slung all over the room with that one!
“Ukrainian defense officials said “
Propaganda because:
“No mention is made of the fact that Ukraine is more than 80% dark now due to missile strikes on power substations”
Maybe thats because the article is focused on whats going on near Bhakmut?
And as long as Putin has bodies to throw into this conflict, he and the Russian people welcome it.
“Maybe thats because the article is focused on whats going on near Bhakmut?”
Or maybe because it is easy to verify the lights are back on. Here is a collection of live webcams from Ukraine:
Kiev, Kharkiv, Lviv. The lights were on in all the major cities last night.
OK, you two can stick with the Moscow Times.
Good!
The Ruskies are attacking at Bakhmut because that is where their supply lines are the shortest, and they still are unable to advance to any meaningful extent.
If it’s Uke propaganda it’s very bad at being Uke propaganda.
The article states that Ukrainians are suffering losses, are having difficulty bringing in fresh troops, that there are many injuries and losses on their side. It showed bloody stretchers used to bring the injured to a dimly lit hospital.
Did you read the article or just give a knee jerk comment?
The Telegraph in London is very good with reporters (real reporters) on the ground in Ukraine and major power centers and has experts on tap for about anything. WSJ is a small time rag of a newspaper by comparison.
The Telegraph’s YouTube page is excellent.
My opinions….
The Russian army should invade and conquer Moscow that way they can give Vladimir Putin a victory before the end of the year. Of course the Ukrainians might beat them to it!
