Hundreds of journalists at the New York Times went on strike Thursday, their union announced, after bargaining over their contract fell through Wednesday.
The historic 24-hour walkout, which reportedly began at midnight Thursday, represents the first strike of its kind at the newspaper in more than 40 years.
“Today we were ready to work for as long as it took to reach a fair deal, but management walked away from the table with five hours to go,” the NYT Guild tweeted Wednesday night. “It’s official: @NYTimesGuild members are walking out for 24 hours on Thursday. We know what we’re worth,” the union said.

A welcome respite from Lies for 24 hours...
Does this mean the crossword people are also on strike?
They won’t be missed.
Hehehe, a 24 hour strike. Really committed to their cause. Jackasses
Bless their wonderful souls. Also REALLY bad timing.
NYT versus union. I’m rooting for mutual annihilation with maximized collateral. A giant noisome pit opening up and swallowing them both along with all associates/minions/sympathizers of either party.
Am I asking too much?
I support this union action fully, stay away until the billionaire known for his great relationships with media labor unions gives everything your little liberal hearts desire.
...and?

Sacré bleu!!
There are no NYT journalists, just propaganda peddlers.
Will anyone notice?
“historic 24 hour walk-out”
Lolololo so they’re taking a day off. Got it.
My parakeet will miss it’s cage being lined with quality “journalism”.
They don’t suck any less.
Once again the Times makes its own history.
How will the members be able to walk a picket line without protection from the homeless? Maybe there is a digital version of a picket sign so as to make for a hands free experience and to distinguish from card board ones? “Will code for food.”
“We know what we’re worth.” Problem is, so does everyone else . . .”
Could they strike for the next 50 years?
Please?
