Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel unequivocally endorsed mail-in balloting Tuesday, distancing herself from former President Donald Trump on an issue that is fracturing the GOP in the wake of disappointing election results this fall.
“What we do need is our voters need to vote early,” McDaniel, a longtime Trump ally, said during a televised interview on Fox News. “I have said this over and over again. There were many in 2020 saying, ‘Don’t vote by mail, don’t vote early.’ And we have to stop that.”...
"The discussion was about Democrats having a month to bank votes while Republicans expect to get it done in one day," RNC spokesperson Nathan Brand said in a statement to NBC News. "We were not talking about the former president, who has encouraged his base to vote early and has himself voted by mail."
But Trump, who already has launched a 2024 presidential campaign, also is the most prominent skeptic of voting by mail. He continues to raise false and unsubstantiated claims that the 2020 election was stolen from him, in part through vote-by-mail programs in battleground states. As recently as last week on his Truth Social website, he wrote, in all capital letters for emphasis: “YOU CAN NEVER HAVE FAIR & FREE ELECTIONS WITH MAIL-IN BALLOTS — NEVER, NEVER, NEVER.”

And yet the 2020 Trump Campaign tried to encourage people to vote by mail. I myself got a number of flyers from the Trump Campaign that contained an application for an absentee ballot. I just had to sign my name and date it and mail to the township clerk whose address was already on the stamped return envelope.

It used to be about appealing to individual voters.
Now its about getting mass ballots mailed to your bloc, and then having your bloc marshall that group to gather all those ballots.

Mail in voting IS here to stay. I don’t like it. I think it ought to be banned. I think everyone either needs to give a good reason why they cannot vote in person (military stationed outside of state) or vote in person.

The REALITY is it exists and is not going away. In Arizona, 80% use it and Katie Hobbs could veto any change between now and 2026.
And if we don’t learn how to WIN with mail in voting, Katie Hobbs will be able to veto any change from 2026-2030!
It isn’t a matter of “Is it good?” It is what exists. There is 0% chance it goes away between now and 2024. We find a way to win using it. Or lose. Binary choice. And I don’t have to like it!
If I were you I wouldn’t vote for Trump.
The GOO had better embrace early and mail-in voting if it hopes to win future statewide elections. They’re here to stay, and encouraging GOO voters to wait until election day is fraught with pitfalls, such as long election-day lines and in the case of Maricopa County, AZ, broken ballot processing gear. Push everyone to vote early and bank those votes.

Pretty tough to open a sealed letter, change what is inside, then reseal it. Nor is there ANY evidence people are doing that. There is evidence that in places like Philly, counters can run a single ballot thru the machine 100 times with no one watching. But no evidence anyone is intercepting and altering a mail-in ballot.
If there IS a way to do so, we need to START doing it! We win by the rules that exist or lose. If we need to cheat back, let’s start doing so. If we can find a way.
And if we can’t find a way? Then either Democrats are super smart, or...we’re losing because of something else.

As we all know you get two or three extra votes with each mail in ballot.
Mail in voting should be illegal, but it’s legal in many states, ignoring that is tying one arm behind your back and trying to defeat Democrats who have mastered the art.
A better strategy is to show up for early voting as soon as possible.>>> And a couple of times.
So let me get this straight - I show up at a house with a couple of mail-in ballots, offer $50 to the residents to let me fill them out, and then have them sign (not that the signature even matters). Not a bad racket.

Agree. Crying over spilled milk on mail in voting is a waste of time and resources. Alternatively, we should be focusing on nipping the rank choice voting scam in the bud. That is a RINO/Uniparty protection racket if there ever was one. Every red state must get a constitutional amendment banning rank choice ASAP or we will be cooked.
You can bribe people to vote in person too.
It’s a tried and tested method with no mail required.
Who’s in charge of the RNC? Oh yeah... she is. It seems to me she should be working on strategies for winning rather than blaming losing on a guy who wasn’t even on the ballot. If she thinks mail-in voting is the way to win for the GOP where is her strategy?
Everywhere there is universal mail-in balloting is either trending toward one-party rule or already there.
