We the living are too much a product of conflict to prosper without adversity.

Embrace the suck! $:-)

Travis McGee…..you might find it fascinating.

I was a Psychology major in college. I didn’t want to do the work for the engineering program I got into, but stayed to get a degree.

Anywho, one class I got into a bit of an argument with one of my professors. He compared a study on mice in a maze to human behavior. I challenged his comparison.

I was wrong.

After day 600, the social breakdown continued and the population declined toward extinction. During this period females ceased to reproduce. Their male counterparts withdrew completely, never engaging in courtship or fighting. They ate, drank, slept, and groomed themselves – all solitary pursuits. Sleek, healthy coats and an absence of scars characterized these males. They were named “the beautiful ones”.

You are here ^

If humans were rats I might worry.

If someone experimented with rats with a view to predict wolf behavior he’d be laughed out of the room. Yet people accept this for human behavior.

Well let’s see how close humans are.

The government has a host of people who are given free housing, free food, free money, free child care, free medical care, free phones, free places to shoot up drugs, etc.

Are people who get everything for free better behaved than the rest of the population, say, people who work every day? Do they commit more or fewer crimes? How is family life, are both parents at home helping with the kids?

I envision someone who has everything handed to him living in a tent city in any big American city, high out of his mind on bath salts and/or fentanyl, and either beating other people or getting beat up by someone else.

That was the point of Utopia. No challenges, no work, everything taken care of and then it all goes to pieces.

Outstanding. I read it all, and all the links that were still active. Thanks again.

I’ll be sure to pass this on to anyone I meet who spends all day licking their fur.
