That is part of what FReepers are, shoot first, aim later.
I think you missed this:
the doctors determined I would be unable to participate in the playoffs."
Smart choice considering his potential future in the NFL
Why would anyone in this country still give a flying F about football, basketball, or the rest of the circuses.
I’m not a sports guy, and don’t read much of this, but it sounds like his decision to turn pro was based on an injury that won’t heal. Who is going to hire a player with a busted hamstring? Will be be like Kapernick and demand to be hired simply because he identifies as a football player and everyone is racist? What am I missing here?
“Why would anyone in this country still give a flying F about football, basketball, or the rest of the circuses.”
Because life is a circus and the biggest shit show of all is politics.
Chronic Hamstring? Yeah…he’s a first rounder.
There is no “I”. But there is a “me.”
It's a theatrical performance - at least the WWE is honest about what they really are. The NFL still leads to grown men on ESPN getting into an animated half hour discussion about "Who Has the Second Best Secondary in the NFC East?" And people actually watch it...
We have learned firmly and finally this year that politics is the same form of circus entertainment - a lot of noise and smoke but the prearranged winners inevitably emerge and the grievance groups are always soothed, if not immediately compensated to the level they feel they deserve.
There is a corollary to the old saying: "If voting could change anything they wouldn't let us do it." It is: "If politicians tried to make their own decisions they wouldn't be allowed to hold the offices."
Since he has barely been on the field this season, he won’t be missed. I would add, he is not the first player to do this.
Todays the day, Georgia. Don’t pick a fake Godly Senator, pick a real Dawgly one. Redo the fake and you’ll jinx the championship redo.
This has become standard for high picks. Many players have been hurt in these games costing them millions. But since they pay them now with NIL money not sure why this still is happening. Buy the insurance with your NIL money and play.
Yeah, but there is a "me".... You forgot that part....Trust me, the athletes don't forget that part
If Woody was still coach he’d slapped some sense into him.
I don’t know. He’s got his future to think about. Risk making his injury permanent for no dollars or let it heal and potentially make millions. Now a nagging injury like that is going to lower his draft stock a bit. But that can be good for you, dropping down 5 to 10 picks generally lands you on a better team. Never fault a young man for thinking long term.
“ What a sorry player! There’s no “I” in team.”
It’s all too corrupt for that with college players getting endorsement deals now.
If Michigan, The Ohio state, or Penn state played in the SEC they would likely be the fourth or fifth best team.
In the Western division.
As a team Manager-—I sure as Hell am NOT going to draft a player whose injuries are evident & are NOT healing.
TOO many other good prospects.
