Since former President Donald Trump launched his campaign in 2016, the FBI has been involved in a series of shady, politicized acts that seem to benefit the Democratic Party. Now, Congress might have decided to rein in the rogue agency at last.
On November 30, Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH) sent a letter to FBI Director Chris Wray, asking for details of the Bureau’s policies for recruiting and using “Covert Human Intelligence Sources (CHS).” Jordan pointed out, “The FBI has had a poor track record in recent years of relying on CHSs.” He cited the Bureau’s use of renegade former British spy Christopher Steele, who produced the notorious dossier used against Trump in the discredited Russia collusion case. Steele’s main source of information was Igor Danchenko, a Russian analyst who’s been investigated for lying to the FBI.
Now, Jordan has told Wray to produce a list of key information, including how many CHSs the agency used, how much they’re paid, and the current policies for recruiting and running them. The deadline for the FBI to respond is December 14.
By that date, Jordan wants to know if the Bureau noticed any red flags while it was recruiting Steele and Danchenko — and, if it did, why they didn’t act on them. Agents for one of our leading law enforcement agencies provided misleading information, and Jordan wants to know why.

Until then I am not going to take it seriously.
Same here. A lot less talk and a LOT more action against these people. Now.
C’mon…give Jordan credit for trying, at least
Who knows
So when does Wray plan to arrest Jordan?
I mean if he thinks he can arrest Presidents, hey, a Congressman is nuthin’....
I’ll be watching to see how Jordan responds when Wray stiffs him.
For pete’s sake Teddy, give the guy (Jordan) a break. I doubt he will receive any reply. Then he can move to the subpoena step. But this a good place to start.
at all time, remember FBI had Hunter Biden laptop from late 2019. therefore, by saying and doing NOTHING, they were covering up for Biden from that time on.
following links to Politico for the letter, including all signatories, and with this at the bottom:
“In addition, nine additional former IC officers who cannot be named publicly also support the
arguments in this letter.”
3 Dec: NY Post: Former top intel chiefs silent after Musk Twitter disclosures
By Jon Levine
Leon Panetta, a former CIA director and defense secretary, John Brennan a former CIA director, Mike Hayden, a former CIA director, and Jim Clapper, a former director of national intelligence — who all once said The Post’s reporting had “all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation,” — declined or did not respond to request for comment about whether the latest disclosures had changed their opinion...
The quartet made their allegations as part of an open letter (LINK) denigrating The Post’s reporting as Russian misinformation which was signed by dozens of other longtime intelligence hands.
“Our experience makes us deeply suspicious that the Russian government played a significant role in this case,” the letter read. “If we are right, this is Russia trying to influence how Americans vote in this election, and we believe strongly that Americans need to be aware of this.”
Other letter signatories The Post reached out to including Douglas Wise, a former Defense Intelligence Agency deputy director, Nicholas Rasmussen, a former National Counterterrorism Center director and Marc Polymeropoulos, a former CIA senior operations officer did not respond to request for comment.
Steven L. Hall, a former CIA senior intelligence officer and Don Hepburn, a former national security executive also did not respond to a request for comment.

1 Apr 2022: Washington Examiner: Intel official who signed Hunter Biden letter picked for Afghanistan commission
by Jerry Dunleavy
The newest Democratic selection for the Afghanistan War Commission is an MSNBC pundit who was among dozens of former intelligence officials who signed a letter in October 2020 claiming without evidence that the Hunter Biden laptop story was part of a Russian operation.
The Democratic chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, Washington Rep. Adam Smith, announced he had picked Jeremy Bash for the Afghanistan investigation Friday, with the biography for Bash noting he served as chief of staff at the Pentagon and chief of staff at the CIA during the Obama administration. Former CIA Director Leon Panetta, for whom Bash worked, also signed the letter.
Bash’s LinkedIn lists himself as the founder of Beacon Global Strategies and as a national security analyst at NBC News and MSNBC...
“This looks like Russian intelligence. This walks like Russian intelligence. This talks like Russian intelligence,” Bash claimed on MSNBC on Oct. 19, 2020. “This effort by Rudy Giuliani and the New York Post and Steve Bannon to cook up supposed dirt on Joe Biden looks like a classic Russian playbook disinformation campaign.”

Yuppers. When fauxnocchio is locked up...🙈🙉🙊
How many times have we gotten more then bupkis?
Just when was any democrat held responsible for ignoring the holy subpoena?
If I am cynical it is because I have seen this song and dance before. Remember Trey Gowdy?
We’ve been “giving them credit” for decades.
Now, we want to see results!
I hear they have really got the third undersecretary deputy assistant to the head mailroom clerk this time! He’s going to get a citation and a permanent note in his personnel file. Stand by...

Gee, I hope the letter being sent is strongly worded.
How many times has the committees demanded Wray and others turn over documents, and they never did? A lot. Nothing is going to happen as long as the Dems have the DOJ
The Dems WILL ALWAYS HAVE the DOJ, changing the head of the DOJ does NOTHING these are deeply embedded bureaucrats that are NOT elected OR confirmed by the Senate!! This agency AND the FBI need to be transferred OUT OF DC and spread across the country, if the bastards don’t want to transfer BYE, BYE, we shrink the beast!! This NEEDS TO HAPPEN with ALL departments of government the lobbyists have far to much control over them!! DIVIDE AND CONQUER I see no other way!!
The first question that Chris Wray should be forced to answer is the same question asked of him by Rep. Clay Higgins from Louisiana. That question is , “Did the FBI have any human resources dressed like MAGA Trump supporters inside the Capitol on Jan. 6 prior to the doors being opened—yes or no? A truthful answer will tell us a lot.
They Should have probable cause or investigative warrant , if they don’t then no confidential human informant
But- they ‘sent a letter’-
I’ll believe it when I see it.
