Elon Musk’s release of information detailing how Twitter suppressed speech during the 2020 presidential election is only the beginning of the story, according to one Texas congressman.
“Investigations are coming,” Republican Rep. Troy Nehls of Texas tweeted Friday.
-snip-
Earlier Friday, journalist Matt Taibbi released internal Twitter communications that showed Twitter employees took down tweets at the behest of the Biden campaign and the Trump White House. Taibbi noted that because the Twitter staff was overwhelmingly liberal, there were “more channels” to censor speech available to the left.
As Nehls promised an investigation, others noted that the liberal media was ignoring the release of the “Twitter Files.”
But a new bombshell was revealed from the “Twitter Files.” Email leaks reveal Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs was in regular communication with Twitter telling them who to censor. Look:

Guess who the governor will be in AZ. Her initials aren’t KL.
Bttt
How does this Twitter stuff differ from newspaper editors and station managers being asked to not run stories, or conversely, to run stories?
That seems to have been a common practice in the pre-internet past.
Musk is wrong on this. Twitter acting on its own to suppress speech is still a violation of free speech.
Free Speech is a fundamental right, an inalienable right, which cannot be taken away.

I’ll believe that when I actually see it happening, but there has to be action taken against those who were engaged in this obvious suppression, and not just some low-level flunky given a slap on the wrist.
But, it will probably be like most congressional hearings, they’ll drag on, a report will be written which will get almost no media coverage, and it will be quickly forgotten.
A massive RECALL is in order. Getter done!
Censorship from the government basements...
Add this to violating the conflict of interest laws of the state and you have grounds to rule the AZ election UNLAWFUL, null, and void. Picture of Hobbs in counting room, unescorted, performing her SoS duties during the day, and resetting the tabulators at night. Law state she was REQUIRED to set aside her election duties as SoS while a candidate in the election her offices supervises.
Fake Government, just like the Fake News that was exposed over the course of President Trump's first term.
Republicans are so incensed, so angry, so up-in-arms, that they’ll go in front of the TV cameras, and express their disagreements with what happened at Twitter and Google and Facebook...
AND THEN...
they’ll do NOTHING!!!
I did NAZI this coming from "Basement Katie" the Nazi...
Eh she didnt need twitter to do anything since she already had FULL control over the voting machines, she knew she was going to “win” before the election even happened
A stern letter...
While I agree that large social media platforms should be treated under the same laws as any other utility, the point is legally arguable which is why it is being argued. But the SOS of Arizona pressuring a private entity to suppress free speech to further her own campaign is an abuse of power in violation of the civil rights of the citizens of the US and she she be sued to hell and gone for it.
The Supreme Court needs to rule on this.
I wish. They are trying to do a deal with the dems before the house changes hands. RINO dweebs.
Dear Nancy,
It has come to light that your party has been really naughty in manipulating votes. In return as part of our budget deal, I am demanding that you add Kentucky as a place getting pork on that defense contract you are pushing.
I presume you agree that this is only fair given the egregiously stupid behavior that has my voters all in arms and demanding I do something.
Sincerely, China Mitch

you are right, even liberals have a historical position on it.........................
That argument has never really made sense to me since Secretaries of State do face the voters. Are you suggesting they need to recuse themselves in he year they stand for re-election?
