Every time you asked a Democrat or one of their MSM stenographers about the rising crime rates in America’s cities during the run-up to the midterm elections, you were told that it was a mirage. It’s not really that bad. These are just Republican talking points. New York’s Governor even expressed disbelief as to why anyone would even bring it up. Perhaps someone should point these people to the current situation in the City of Brotherly Love. (A tragically hilarious name given the current circumstances.) If things are going so well, why would the City Council vote to make the 10 pm curfew that was in place for almost everyone under the age of 18 all summer permanent? And yet that’s what happened on Thursday and one of the Democrats who voted in favor of the measure specifically called out the city’s rampant crime rates and the threat crime poses to her own child as the reason. (CBS Philadelphia)...
Philadelphia’s summertime curfew could soon become permanent. City council passed a bill Thursday afternoon that would make the summer curfew permanent.
Councilmember Katherine Gilmore Richardson proposed the legislation and is a mother herself.
Gilmore Richardson says her goal is to protect Philadelphia’s young people who all too often fall victim to the city’s violence.
“There are too many young people who have been involved in crime or criminal incidents simply because they have been out late at night,” she said.

“Philadelphia’s young people who all too often fall victim to the city’s violence.”
Vcitims?
Are not Philadelphia’s young people the ones responsible for the city’s violence?
They need to set a curfew for big homo sapiens also. Maybe around 10:30 p.m.
Now we see their plan. Martial law. The ultimate in power and authority. By leaving criminals roam loose, the rights of all go away. (For our own safety)
City of Brotherly Love. Not since Democrats got in charge.
If I was 16 or 17 I would resent being subjected to such an early curfew. Instead of locking people up in their home why not hire a sufficient number of cops and prosecute and keep locked up the bad guys instead?
Why not just cut to the heart of the issue and outlaw the feral black yoots that are the true cause of the crime?
Well, I guess a 10 PM curfew would keep those crazy MAGA guys off the streets. You know, like the ones who attacked poor Jussie Smollett at 1 AM.
So... Philadelphia just kicked their problems into the neighboring communities.
I was working closing shifts to 2AM and Pizza Hut in those days (16-17). Sometiomes a late night of Risk! at a pal’s house. Good times. I am SO glad I am not growing up now.
My brothr and I were speaking recently about what great years we had in our neighborhood growing up. How fortunate we were compared to today’s kids.
Hi.
There are many reasons this curfew will fail. Everything from work exemptions to this demographic doesn’t give a damn about curfews.
But the operative and logistics reasons are the problem. If the law breakers are arrested, will they be tried, convicted and incarcerated?

Every blue city has the same card
Didn't you get the memo? It's all those 50 year old white guys who are NRA members that are the problem.
How much ya wanna bet they won’t enforce it for gay bars, Muslim events, Hispanics or,liberal criminals etc?
Welcome to blue America, where you will obey or else!
Would never be if they enforced the law and arrest criminals. But look at what they are accomplishing they are also keeping law abiding citizens in their homes as well which is what they intended all along
It’s not the number of cops, it’s the broken justice system.
It doesn’t matter how many cops you have, if the criminals get released immediately.
Conversely, it doesn’t take a lot of cops if the bad guys they catch are put away for a long time.
