A few thoughts -
Big tech and the media blamed themselves for the 2016 election of Trump and the defeat of their candidate - Hillary.
There was a lot of navel gazing on their part in 2016 about “what could we do better”. People have forgotten this but they felt like they gave Trump too much coverage (ironic considering the tongue bath they gave Obama for a decade).
Go back and look at every media interview with big tech execs during the first year of Trump. They repeatedly asked media execs why they gave Trump so much coverage. I remember it. Many have forgotten it.
Fast forward to the 2020 election during Covid and they went overboard to make up for their self-perceived “failure” in the 2016 election.
The money from Zuckerberg alone, funneled through far left entities, was probably enough to decide the election. The majority of his money was spent in the contested counties including those that “stopped counting” and eventually swung the election to Biden.
It was still incredibly close even despite this.
This is why all this PAC bullchit needs to stop. Oligarchs can spend a half billion dollars through shady organizations and buy an election. Soros can buy a DA race. Zuckerberg bought the White House.
The censorship of the Hunter Biden laptop and lack of curiosity by “journalists” about the “family business” of influence peddling was enough to decide the election.
We had 4 years of media hysteria and non-stop churning of lies (like the FBI Russia hoax) and that was enough to decide the election because they drove Trump’s negative numbers up far beyond what he could do on his own.
They suppressed his success and highlighted his negatives.
They also failed to cover Biden highlighting his “positives” and totally suppressing his negatives.
They created a “misery index” shift due to Covid throughout the nation.
Our courts refuse(d) to enforce election laws before and after the election.
They used Covid at every level to bypass election laws leading to the “largest turn-out” by far in the history of our nation in the midst of a “pandemic”.
What does all this mean?
The media, big tech, the bureaucracy (mainly DOJ to include the judiciary), and our oligarchs now decide who is the President of the US.
You and I have “one vote”. They can generate millions simply by tilting the playing field. Trump got the most negative media of any person in history and it was constant for years.
The GOPe worked against Trump too. His own “party”. The same party that is supposed to “represent” his voters.
Despite all of this..... Trump still got the most votes of any republican candidate in history and only lost by thousands in a few key states.
It was pretty impressive when you step back and consider it.
He surprised them in 2016. They were awake in 2020 and it was all hands on deck against him and despite that he got more votes.
