Tesla Model Y Is 1 Top Selling Car In China, 1 Top Selling EV In Europe — Why?
Without a doubt, the Tesla Model Y is in high demand. It's similar to the Model 3 in a lot of ways, but a bit bigger, falling into that much loved 'crossover' category that adds

And all of those equal up to how many EV cars in China? About 0.0001%
And how does this compensate for giving China a pass on polution--coal, etc. While shutting the US down.

Sedans just aren’t that practical. It also almost a necessity if you have a dog. I will probably buy a Y to replace one of our aging vehicles at some point, partially because I’m a gadget guy, partially to support Musk.

To: SmokingJoe
Not much need for a vehicle here.

Vastly more EVs in China than in the US. Not even close. Read the link in post # 2.

China is the world’s biggest car market.
To: logi_cal869
Vastly more is FIVE TIMES more EVs are sold in China than in the US.
To: SmokingJoe
Why China is outselling the US in EVs 5 to 1
LOL, here's why:
Last year’s frenzied growth may not be repeated in 2022. The subsidies for purchasing electric vehicles have been cut by another 30% this year, and by the end of the year, Beijing will sunset government-paid EV subsidies. Xing told Protocol one of the reasons the Chinese EV market exploded in 2021 was that everyone knew heavy subsidies would be phased out in 2022. The 30% slash in subsidies can translate to a cross-industry EV price hike. The ongoing global chip shortage and price increases for lithium batteries will make it even harder for carmakers to bring costs down.

Subsidies or no subsidies, EVs will sell vastly more in China than in the US.
They have nearly four times the US population and they make vastly more EV’s some very low priced.
To: SmokingJoe; Reno89519
That was not the context of Reno89519’s comment.
Cheerleading a bit? Bias much?
Without rebates, EVs would amount to crap here, especially when electricity prices begin reflecting the reality of 2 more years of an administration committed to making those rates more than DOUBLE with their current policies.

Without rebates, EVs would amount to crap here, especially Tesla stopped getting federal EV subsidies close to 3 years ago, yet Tesla sold close to 70% of EVs in America in 2021.
Try again.
