Russia planned to start the invasion with a "massive missile and airstrike campaign" against Ukrainian military targets, RUSI says, with a list also showing who should be killed, who would be intimidated and who would be targeted as a collaborator.
A British defence and security think tank has revealed details of Moscow's pre-invasion plan for Ukraine, based on captured Russian documents apparently signed off by Vladimir Putin.
Russia had planned to take over Ukraine over 10 days and annex it by August this year, the Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies (RUSI) said.

It is when. The if ship has already sailed. The worshipers of Lying Joe Biden will see that it happens. They are quiet at the moment, but they will spring into action again.
My history may be a bit rusty, but I do seem to recall that the Japanese bombing Pearl Harbor had something to do with us getting into WW II.
You are most welcome. With such encouragement I will continue with my posts. 😀
So Hitler just “intervened” into Russia?
No, Hitler invaded Russia via Operation Barbarossa.
If I was you, I avoid comparing apples and oranges, bruh.
“British defence and security think tank”
I stopped reading right there.
If we could have killed Hitler, we would have
Well Putin did attempt to copy a blitzkrieg in his invasion of Ukraine, but it fell apart faster than Hitler’s original. Nonetheless, they were both invasions with the goal of conquest.
“Well Putin did attempt to copy a blitzkrieg in his invasion of Ukraine”
Based upon your opinion and insight?
Based upon who authoritative analysis?
Ever heard of the military term FEINT?
Kyiv was a FEINT to lock down roughly 65-75 thousand Ukrainian forces while thrusts were made in the eastern and southern areas of Ukraine.
And if one reads the Russian SMO, “conquest” or the goals set forth never once mention the word “conquest”.
Again, I can appreciate your take and opinion on the matter, but dancing on word semantics to form an argument is just utter BS.
The words ‘victory’ and ‘defeat’ or ‘invasion’ and/or ‘invade’ need to be carefully used.
Vladimir Putin’s stated objectives of ‘demilitarisation’ and ‘denazification’ are NOT about gaining territory, but about destroying the threat to the Donbass and those four regions.
In other words, the Ukrainians are fighting for territory, while the Russians seek to destroy capabilities.
In a way, by holding on to territory, the Ukrainians are making the Russians’ job easier.
You can always regain territory—you cannot regain human lives.
And you expect that Putin would have publicly announced he wanted to conquer Ukraine? That’s a bit naive, isn’t it?
As for the trust to Kyiv being a feint, that’s just a post hoc rationalization for its failure. Do you really believe that Russian generals would have purposely sacrificed their elite airborne units in such a way? Are the Russians really that callous of the lives of their soldiers? And all the valuable armored vehicles that were destroyed or left in the field? That was a voluntary sacrifice to confuse the Ukrainians?
“And you expect that Putin would have publicly announced he wanted to conquer Ukraine? That’s a bit naive, isn’t it?”
And here we are again, you incessant anal retentive focus on a word...”conquer.”
As I have already indicated, Russia nor Putin aim to “conquer” Ukraine.......
And I am saying that Putin’s stated objectives of ‘demilitarisation’ and ‘denazification’ are utter crap. “Denazification” is just a euphemism tor regime change and the installation of a Russian puppet regime. If it wasn’t about territory Putin wouldn’t have announced the annexation of the four oblasts. It has always been about territory.
If it was about conquest and territory, Russia would not have went in on an SMO (Special Military Operation_ and would have simply declared war.... :duh:
Just a guess, but I think I know why this “captured Russian documents” piece was put out......to counter what the Russians allegedly found:
‘Rosgvardeytsy found documents with data on the “oppressed state” in the Armed Forces of Ukraine’

Wrong thread, my bad. Sorry.
Actually, right thread.
*shakeshead*
I need some sleep.
Strange how Putinistas are so upset. They themselves declared at the beginning that Russia will win in 10 days too.
The UK has sustained a main interest in doing intelligence work and espionage through several wars and has done it well countless times. Conspiracy theorists with their confirmation bias and contempt for sane people will point many times to a past error in that intelligence gathering to exaggerate its significance.
But they were called brothers and sisters to and by the russians....
