In a few months from now the California State Government
will be seeing billions of dollars less revenue because of the rotten performance of Silicon Valley stocks. California went through this after the 2008 stock market crash. Newsom and the Democrats learned nothing from that. They can pay state employees or reparations, but not both.

Of course, I suppose it’s irrelevant that California was never a slave state. Also, there are descendants of people who fought for the union in the Civil War, thus, their ancestors already did their part against slavery. It would be double taxation, in a sense, to have them pay reparations.
But nobody in CA government cares. I’m just venting it here bc I still can.

And a person who is of mixed race is treated how? Gets 50%?
Does a black person have to prove they were discriminated against?
If a black person immigrated to the US after slavery, even last month, is he still eligible?
Is there an offset for government handouts, special privileges, etc. already given?
Should there be an offset due to the disproportionate amount of violent crime?
Should white democrats pay a higher sum towards reparations given their support of slavery and bigotry- even to the extent of having known klansmen like (deceased) Senator Robert Byrd in leadership, and their refusal to agree to the ‘64 Civil Rights Act?
I’m not in California, what assurances are there that none of my tax dollars go towards this nonsense?

When did California have legal slavery? Just Asking for a friend.
If California allowed for Indentured Servitude or Slavery, knowingly without prosecution of the guilty, when it was illegal by Territory, Constitution, or State provision, then they owe restitution.
If they are descendants of slaves from other states, then they need to take that up with the other states.
