Blinken labels Russian attacks on Ukraine energy infrastructure ‘barbaric’

Secretary of State Antony Blinken called recent barrages of Russian missile strikes against Ukraine’s energy infrastructure “barbaric” on Wednesday, accusing Russian President Vladimir Putin of trying to “freeze and starve Ukrainians.”

Ukraine says Russia has stepped up its attacks against energy infrastructure targets in recent weeks, leading to rolling blackouts across the country and leaving many residents without heat and water as freezing winter temperatures set in.

“Heat, water, electricity — for children, for the elderly, for the sick — these are President Putin’s new targets. He’s hitting them hard,” Blinken said in Romania while attending a NATO foreign minister meeting.

His first clue to the problem was when Ukrainian EV owners complained they couldn’t re-charge their vehicles. Plugging in didn’t work.

It is only 'barbaric' when it's not the US doing it...

Curious, is Russia still calling this a special military action. Or is it war yet?

Buck Flinken.

From a briefing by NATO spokesman Jamie Shea. Brussels, 25 May 1999:

https://www.nato.int/kosovo/press/p990525b.htm

“Q: If you say that the [Yugoslav] army has a lot of generators, then why are you depriving the country of 70% of not only electricity, but also water supply, because, according to you, [NATO] only strikes military targets.

A: Unfortunately, the command and control systems also depend on electricity. If Milosevic really wants his citizens to have water and electricity, all he has to do is accept the NATO terms and we will stop this campaign. Until he does, we will continue to attack targets that supply his army with electricity. If this has consequences for the population, these are his [Milosevic’s] problems. Water supply and electricity are being used against the people of Serbia, we have “cut off” them forever or for a long time for the sake of the lives of 1.6 million Kosovars who have been driven from their homes and whose lives have been seriously damaged. This difference will not appeal to everyone, but for me this difference is fundamental.”

“Ukraine says Russia has stepped up its attacks against energy infrastructure targets in recent weeks,”

That’s war. The deep state thought the Russkies were gonna quit after withdrawing. If they can assassinate their own billionaires, this is just a normal op for the Russians. The Nazis did the same thing days the war when the US occupied Germany.

Blinken should tell that to the Serbs, who haven't forgotten that "NATO" (USAF and RAF) destroyed that nation's utilities, bridges, hospitals and schools in order to "bring them to heel" in 1999. We like to bomb civilians before we lecture them about "democracy."

By the way, did you know that SoS Antony Blinken is part Ukrainian, and that UnderSoS Victoria Nuland, the Maidan coup plotter, is also part Ukrainian? Their blinding hatred for Russia goes way back.

Keep in mind the Duma ( their Congress) has not yet authorized mobilization of the Russian Army- when/ if they do- then it will be war…that said, the Ukies are on their 8th mobilization, 18-60 year olds, and woman getting conscription notices- definitely not winning, desperation.

Discarding the corrupted western media narrative, it is obvious:

Ukraine 1991-2023 RIP…. Ukraine is a spent western welfare nation…betrayal by the US has a long history, especially with a senile old man in charge ( think Afghanistan). A senile old man can not change his “ stripes”.

I think you missed Serbia, same time frame as Bosnia.

We famously managed to bomb the Chinese embassy there.
