Any union member who goes on strike after a settlement is imposed will be terminated immediately. If an entire union goes on strike, it will almost certainly be de-certified and sued/fined into insolvency. The remaining unions will have no legal basis to honor a picket line.

Let’s keep in mind that the leverage these railroad workers have is dwarfed by the leverage of all the other industries and workers who rely on the railroads for their survival. U.S. railroad law is designed to protect THEM, not the railroads and their workers.

I would like to see Democrats and the self-described “Most Pro Union” POTUS in history fire union workers or decertify an entire Union, meanwhile the economy crashes and other Unions are likely to strike in unison.

With Air Traffic Workers, replacements were somewhat available, I’m not sure train engineers would be readily available for replacement.
