Tried to have John Gotti killed in revenge for Gotti killing his own boss, Paul Castellano. They missed the target and accidentally killed Gotti’s underboss, Frank DeCicco, with a bomb.
Gigante, after admitting his mental illness was fake, regretted his longtime hoax because he was a multi-millionaire, but couldn’t enjoy his wealth because to keep up his ruse, he couldn’t travel beyond a few city blocks radius from his home.
