Libs would rather bend the rules to fit their opinions than conform to a Constitutional model. That has been the case for at least 70 years.
The country has been run by "Progressive" for at least that long.
One of the fundamental beliefs of Progressives is the Constitution is old and outdated, and has to be "worked around" or ignored.
There was a thread, since deleted, I believe, on DU about repealing the Second Amendment. There was an interesting cross-section of opinions on how to achieve gun control...court packing, rewriting the 2nd. A lot of Karens over there, but some realists, as well. to include
