The dispute between the world's richest man and the world's biggest corporation spills into the open.
It was inevitable.
The rivalry between Elon Musk, the world's most influential CEO, and Apple (AAPL) - Get Free Report, the biggest company, was going to turn into an all-out fight between two brands that don't want to share the throne of innovation
Musk, the richest man in the world, is a visionary who believes he has no rival and has still always been jealous of the cult of Apple.
The iPhone maker enjoys its reputation as the most revolutionary company, and its iconic co-founder, Steve Jobs, remains one of the most respected innovators.
Musk and his Tesla (TSLA) - Get Free Report and SpaceX believe they have done much more to transform the world in recent years than has Apple, which since the iPhone has only released the Apple Watch and possibly the iPad.
For a long time the rivals never turned to direct confrontation, preferring to confront each other indirectly. But when Musk became the owner of Twitter (TWTR) - Get Free Report on Oct. 27, the confrontation became inevitable.
That's because Apple is an app distributor, and its content policy diverges with the approach of Musk, who regards himself as a "free-speech absolutist" even when it comes to hate speech.

Musk says he may release a Phone could be interesting.
it’s going to be tough to complete with a company that uses slave labor.
Both of these companies owe their existence to the silicon chip.
If Musk Builds a Phone, Builds a satellite communications network to communicate with that phone, builds a car to communicate with that satellite, buys a social media app that might also be used for banking/purchasing/s-—posting...
If
He’s got the pieces to work with there, you might say some parts are unlikely, but maybe not impossible.
Are you talking about Apple or Tesla?
“SpaceX believe they have done much more to transform the world in recent years than has Apple, which since the iPhone has only released the Apple Watch and possibly the iPad.”
Recently? IPad 2010... Apple Watch 2014. So basically, after Steve Jobs died, they have done nothing. The watch was already being worked on when he bit the big one.
Will he be branded as a homoprobe, or whatever it is?
Won’t matter.
He is Musk.
The key is the OS. Musk has the resources to roll his own, or buy out something like Graphene or Sailfish and adapt to his needs. Whatever he comes up with will need to be Android compatible.
Whatever he comes up with will need to be Android compatibleAndroid = Google. I'm out
What has SpaceX done to change the my world? I seriously don't know.
Full disclosure. I'm not a fan of Apple, Google or Musk.
” I’m not a fan of Apple, Google or Musk”
That reminds me of the Mandaens, an ethno religious group in the south of iraq that have been there since at least 200 BC.
Ti the Mandaens, their primary prophet is John the Baptist. And they consider Moses, Jesus and Mohammad as false prophets! So talk of pissing off all your neighbours
I see that article as mostly hyperbole, weakly based on projected emotions of Musk.
Musk won’t absolutely need his own phone, either, as Gab has already been long working around app prohibition by simply building a better browser interface, which Twitter could easily do as well.
His recent actions are more likely about Musk wanting to turn Twitter into a financial system, which he has hinted at, and trying to publicly barter with Apple (and Google) about operating costs on their platforms. Replacing those platforms would cost a whole lot more than just paying their tolls, for now.
“Musk, who regards himself as a “free-speech absolutist” even when it comes to hate speech.”
This statement is frightening as well as infuriating.
Filthy anti speech leftists and China sell outs.
Google doesn't make the apps. If Elon wants Android users to upgrade to his new SpacePhone (or whatever he calls it) it will need to be app-compatible, OR...he will need to create an entire ecosystem of apps tailored to his new OS, ready to go at Day One. I suspect that will happen organically over time regardless, but in the meantime people will want to keep using their present apps.
That can be said about a lot of companies.
If the iPhone changed your life much, then you must have had a bland life. I liked it better when cell phones didn’t exist.
