"I find that very disheartening," he concluded.
Two members of the Mohave County, Ariz., Board of Supervisors on Monday voted to certify the results of the Nov. 8 midterm elections "under duress," claiming he was forced to do so under threat of jail time.
"I vote 'aye' under duress. I found out today that I have no choice but to vote 'Aye' or I will be arrested and charged with a felony," Gould said while casting his vote. "I don't think that that is what the founders had in mind when they used the democratic process to elect our leaders."
"I find that very disheartening," he concluded. Video footage of the vote showed Gould raise his objections. Just the News has sought comment from Gould.

Ron Gould of the Mohave County Board of Supervisors was told he would be arrested if he did not certify the election.
Mohave was certified under duress."
There has been forum infighting since Jim opened the doors to allow use by others. One of the largest was the Luccianne departure in the early days. Others have happened along the way.
Kind of makes them moral cowards...
I know this has always been here, at least as long as I have been. There is something different about this which I cannot put my finger on.
I’ve really not seen the difference. Maybe folks who are from “the ends justify the means” camp are feeling more empowered and thus more vocal.
That’s what I was wondering.
I submit that we’ve seen a great deal of rare courage in standing up to persecution in the last two years. I know many who have refused the experimental shot who lost their livelihoods, friendships and family relationships.
Only one of my kids had to take a stand and he prevailed. My employer, a Fortune 500 never really pushed it but I was prepared to be fired.
Go to jail, rather than certify a crooked election. Resign in protest.

That could be it...
Don’t forget that she mentioned that she did not want to disenfranchise the voters.
What a great thinker she is.
So she should have been asked the question “What about all of the voters who voted for Kari Lake being disenfranchised?” It would have been interesting to hear what a “great mind” would have tro say.
If so it might be prudent to not to pursue it... It is similar to doxxing.
Two of us just requested our posts about this to be pulled.
Just a thought. :)
So ask her. She's a long-time, venerable FReeper.
What makes you think Kari's voters were disenfranchised in Mohave County?
Well Hildy..you people passed a couple resolutions, which are nothing but a bunch of bull, and your vote to certify proves you are another narcissistic low life politician.
“...you people passed a couple resolutions, which are nothing but a bunch of bull, and your vote to certify proves you are another narcissistic low life politician.”
The resolution was only for the Mohave County. Right? No? Maybe? Twice on Sundays?
So why would they vote to not certify the results because of what is claimed occurred in ANOTHER county?
It’s easy to bark from behind a keyboard - we all do it. It’s just that some of us do it with some knowledge.
Let me ask you something.. What do you think not certifying would have done, what it would have led to? I seriously want to know.
Thank you. You are correct. If we did not certify Mohave County’s votes it would have disenfranchised all the voters from Mohave County. NOT Maricopa County. It would have changed the outcome of several State races where we either won or are very close (AG). I think the misunderstanding is that if enough Counties don’t certify there will be a revote. There will never be a revote. As soon as Maricopa certified their votes, it’s over. Now the lawsuits begin. Did anyone here know that Abe Hamaddeh cannot have he recount until all Counties certify? Mohave County went for Kari Lake almost 80%. To all those out there who are bashing us, please tell me what not certifying would have accomplished?
Thank you for the explanation. It is a fine mess we are in.
You can NOT certify an election that is invalid.
If you do, you are violating your oath to the defend the US Constitution.
Even if it is within a county that has a valid election. If you validate the potential fraud in another county through your actions within one county, you validate the whole.
BTW..dont talk about your resolutions anymore. If you are afraid to confront the violation of citizens voting rights by an election that has been nefarious, then you will NEVER confront any abuse of citizens rights by ANY resolution.
I wonder what my ancestors would think having confronted an abusive government at Concord Bridge and Bunker Hill.
I do not believe that Mohave County’s election was invalid.
I dont either. That is not what I said. I said, that if one county of a state violates equal protection, then it violates ALL the counties of that state.
How many laws were violated by Maricopa county and Hobbs during this past election?
If they violated ANY law, then the election is NOT valid and must be deemed invalid. If they violated ANY law, and the rest of the counties make it valid, then the citizens of all the lawful counties votes have been violated by the offending county...Maricopa.
Here is what is going to happen. You certified the election although there seems to have been laws broken. They..meaning the offending Maricopa county officers, will thank you, and go about their business as if nothing happened. Then, they will screw you over every chance they get.
You know how many laws were broken. You and the rest in the commission wont admit it.
