DeSantis leads Trump in early poll of Pennsylvania Republican voters (45%-40%)

As former President Donald Trump pursues another bid for the White House, a new poll offers fresh evidence that Pennsylvania Republicans may be considering an alternative: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

DeSantis leads Trump, 45% to 40%, in a hypothetical head-to-head 2024 primary election, according to a survey of Pennsylvania Republican voters.

Those figures include people who said they would “definitely” or “probably” support the candidates.

The survey was commissioned by Commonwealth Partners Chamber of Entrepreneurs, a Harrisburg-based group that promotes free markets and conservative policies.

“This poll shows what’s become abundantly clear in the past two years: It’s time to move on from Trump,” Matt Brouillette, CEO of Commonwealth Partners, said in a statement. “While his accomplishments on priorities like tax reductions and judicial nominations are notable, if Republicans want to achieve similar policy wins in the future, they must leave behind the Trump brand that’s delivering electoral defeat.”

The survey of 639 registered Republican voters in Pennsylvania had a margin of error of plus or minus 3.9 percentage points.

Twelve percent said they were undecided, and 4% preferred another candidate. Respondents were not asked about any other potential GOP candidates by name.

The poll, taken Nov. 19-21, comes as some in the party have blamed Trump for the GOP’s poor showing in this month’s midterm elections. The former president’s endorsed candidates lost several key races, including elections for governor and U.S. Senate in battleground Pennsylvania.

By contrast, DeSantis won reelection in Florida by 19 percentage points.

I’m not for or against desantis.
Let whoever wants to get in the ring go for it.
The voters will decide.

There is no doubt RINO scum and GOPe scum are pushing desantis.

But desantis has played well in the minor leagues - very well.

The next level is far more complex and he will have to grow.

It will take time, but I do think that Trump is past his prime, unfortunately, the 2020 election was stolen from him. But he won’t be the 2020 for nominee. And sadly, there will be a lot of kicking and screaming between now and then. Which reminds me of the back-and-forth amongst folks here on out for regarding Lyn’ Ted and Trump in 2016. It will all sorted self out in time and we will all be united in 2024. Of that I have no fear.

I think Oz might've won if it weren't for Mastriano.
Doug Mastriano was a terrible candidate who had no business running for governor. In his 14 point defeat, he drug Oz down with him.

Which translates into the undeniable fact that Trump was unable to officially win PA. State GOP in PA will fight for DeSantis.

Trump’s hand-picked Senate candidate was beaten soundly by an incoherent woke socialist. 2016 was a long time ago.

If you can’t win Georgia and Arizona, there is no way you’re going to be elected President.

So the real question is, who will fill the ranks for Desantis? His choices or those who he’s told can be approved?

In the rural areas of eastern Pa. the are lots of Trump flags everywhere, in spite of the Oz endorsement. I’ve yet to see a DeSantis flag or sign.

“It will all sorted self out in time and we will all be united in 2024.”

If Trump wins the 2024 Republican nomination, his Republican critics will continue to work with the democrats instead of working with the 45th President of the United States.

If Trump is denied the 2024 nomination, a bunch of Trump supporters will skip the convention and write in Trump in the general.

The time to unite was in 2016, but a bunch of ‘bought and paid for’ asshole Republicans had other priorities.

“Their priority was working with the enemy.”

Pennsylvania is the RINO heartland along with New York. Trump’s takeover in 2016 was hostile and the RINO’s want this state back.
