“Controlled” by Twitter, or worked in collusion with Twitter. I can’t imagine any company engaged in ESG or complete loyalist to all things Left ever having to worry about being cancelled.
The Right doesn’t cancel anything or anyone. The Right doesn’t have the troops or support system. The Right doesn’t have billionaires and shady PACs, etc that can pay for transporting an army of supporters that have no problem destroying a city, knowing that the Dem Governors, Mayors and Police Chiefs are going to let it all slide.
When it popped off in Atlanta, word on the street was that the GBI identified one person that was paying all the bond/bail money and the fines. I don’t remember the media showing up at their hotel room, AriBnB or the home of a friend to confront them.
And, at the end of the day, while you, me and millions of others will be furious to find out just how bad it really is, nothing will be done.
Pres Trump asked Congress to get rid of Section 230. Republicans blocked that just as aggressively as the Democrats.

Pres Trump wanted to end Section 230. As I just commented to someone else, doing so would have taken away the protections afforded to the tech industry.
He was obstructed by Republican’s just as much as he was Democrats.
You want to call it defeatism. I call it, reality. As in, living in the real world.
But, since I’m a defeatist. Maybe you can win me over and tell me what I should do. What can be done? Who is going to do it?

Moving past the stolen election in 2020. One county....ONE....in Arizona is laughing at everyone right now. They have, forever, destroyed the voting and election process. One county in that state is determining the outcome. One county that has been identified as having done so many things WRONG and ILLEGAL and neither the Governor, AG, nor the legislature(the folks who control elections) is doing anything about it.
So, back to my previous question....what do you want to do about it? Honest question.

As you and I are on FR, the Deep State is stealing/has stolen an election in Arizona. For all the world to see. Not one person is doing anything about it.
No Republican’s from DC are getting involved. I haven’t read or heard about Cruz offering his expert litigation skills to fight for the people of Arizona.
Pres Trump exposed the Deep State and other than Strzok losing his pension and that one guy going to prison for a few months, everyone else has walked.
It just an honest observation. Nothing more. Do I wish it were different? Absolutely.

Pres Trump...talks about withholding aide, that the US is/was under no obligation to give, gives it to them anyway and they impeach him.

Free Republic is a forum that allows quite a bit of leeway in expression, yet it manages to avoid the likes of “the Taliban, ISIS, NAMBLA.” Violent, threatening speech is pretty obvious.

The free speech angle is a charade to divert people from the real purpose: to develop an app like China’s WeChat, that becomes so ubiquitous that people have to use it in order to participate in society. It will require participation in blockchain, digital currency and digital ID. It’s a surveillance and control tool of the Chinese government. That’s the end game.
If you read the Twitter Rules page that’s linked in my post, how different are (the new Musk) policies from the old policies? Probably not much. When the platform gets to define and expand the meaning of terms like: shame, degrade, harass, intimidate, abuse - then people are at the mercy of arbitrary rule. That’s not even close to freedom of speech.
Just like good wokesters, Twitter has a Hateful Conduct Policy. Hateful. Right out of the Wokester Dictionary.
What Musk and Twitter really believe in is their version of freedom of expression, which is approved and controlled.
The brilliance of course, is in steering the exact same ship in the exact same direction, but convincing people that - - things are different now!

It is not as if this is a new phenomena. The new phenomena is: It is being exposed.
The major power of the Left/Progressives/Media/Deep State (all part of the same power group) was they controlled the information flow.
If they had not controlled the information flow, we would not have 70 years of progressive judges, or the Media coup known as Watergate.
About 60% or more of the country no longer believes the Dominant Media, aka Left/Progressives/Media/Deep State.
You have to get to that point, first. President Trump did a considerable amount to move that needle.
The politicians matter little, if the Left/Progressives/Media/Deep State controls the information flow.
They don't have the control they used to have, which is why they are resorting to ever more obvious and fascist methods. Those methods are becoming more and more known to more and more people.
If Musk actually makes Twitter into a free speech platform, the control they do have falls apart even more.
Of course, if enough people just give up, it doesn't matter.
As it is, they lost control of the House and barely hung onto the Senate.
You seem to expect those who do not have the power to do so, to put people behind bars, immediately. It won't happen.
The people have to be educated first. It is happening.
And, yes, the establishment Republicans are a huge part of the problem. But there are more MAGA Republicans than ever before, in Congress.

I get the same reaction from Freepers when I promote an Article V Convention of the States.
Too many Freepers believe the Framers planted a hand grenade in the Constitution to blow it up.
The same people who believe the restoration of free government can come about through the uniparty’s electoral scam.
I think Twitter was far more than just social media.
I think it was a tool used in the fascist sense to “teach” us the rules and what we were allowed to say or do.
Say the wrong thing, get a public beat down. Lose your job and be a social outcast.
I suspect some of these instances were not even real people. They were contrived and meant as “teachable” opportunities.

They control everything. And the same people continue to elect the same Charlatans. Why? Because if you don’t vote for Graham, Thune, McConnell, Scott, Tillis, Ernst, etc etc etc etc, the Democrat will win?
President Trump exposed them...and hardly anyone listened. There is absolutely ZERO reason for people like Thune and Rubio to still be in the Senate, but there they are.

Nothing changes...not with Musk or Pres Trump, almost all of the Republicans in Congress are swapped out. And that includes MTG, given her support for McCarthy. As I stated, Pres Trump knew all of this. He knew it and wanted to get rid of the security blanket that Congress gave Twitter, Facebook and the rest. Didn’t happen. Members of his own party blocked it.
I remember when Parler came out. I was never on it but I knew a few folks that were. Two of them, not knowing each other, asked me if I was on it and if I had seen the pictures of Hunter Biden with the little girl. Both described a very, very young girl dressed in lingerie. Right after that, Parler started having all sorts of problems and disappeared from the landscape.

As it is, they lost control of the House and barely hung onto the Senate....Anyone who thinks they lost control of the House, clearly gives Republican’s way too much credit and hasn’t been paying attention. 12 REPUBLICAN Senators just voted with the Democrats to codify gay marriage. House Republican’s, all of them still there I think, voted with Democrats to pass Biden’s bills. The Republican House Whip is as much a Democrat as any Democrat and is, apparently supported by Soros. So if anyone thinks that Pelosi/Jefferies aren’t going to control things, I’m thinking they’re living in LaLa Land.

I’m going to have to politely disagree with that. I wish it were different. A thousand times over.
Problem is, Michigan and Pennsylvania CANNOT be won by any Republican. Ever again. Unless Lake can pull something off in Arizona, then Arizona is done as well.
So, even though the Red States outnumber the Blue States, simple math shows that the Blue states have the majority of the Electoral College votes. And whether or not the election is legitimate, the Blue States will forever go to the Democrat.
That is just the way it is.
The Deep State has control of the entire federal government and enough states that Presidential elections are pretty much a thing of the past.
Only two ways to solve the problem: secession and a fight. No one wants the fight. And given Governors like Kemp, Hutchinson, Ivey, and others from the GOPe, there isn’t going to be any secession. Shame because I wish it would since elections cannot be fixed.
With regards to elections, I say that with one caveat....If the Right/Republicans start using the same dirty tricks and start stealing elections from the Democrats, using the same methods given the precedents that they have helped set, they will be the first ones crying to change things. And only then would the country stand a chance to have a legitimate election. Of course, when they continue to lose them, the cycle will repeat itself.
I agree with you there. I was referring to the culture of “then” twitter.
