To: Its All Over Except ...; All

Are these the standard 8” Howitzer. If so,most came from depot stocks and were probably pushed out fast without the time consuming depot overhaul standards being executed, Their is a phrase in government, ‘You can get it right or get it fast, you can’t get it both ways and if you want it ‘really, really bad’ that is what you will get.

I remember reading these new ones were pieces of crap to begin with.

Something about the recoil systems failing after minimal use and the need for constant and attentive maintenance.

The US hasn’t had a 200+mm howitzer in service for decades. We have mostly 155mm and 105mm.
