I’ve had a CCW for 30 years. In the last few years I’ve stopped carrying routinely because I no longer need to pass through had neighborhoods.
If I sense trouble in the air this would change quickly. As it would for most gun owners.

In my area, places that were rural and safe are now getting hit by city "folks" who have discovered our lack of security and low numbers of law enforcement, as well as abundance of nice things. Things are in the air, hence the soaring number of people carrying. I think you missed the handwriting on the wall...
