Portland homicides set record at 93 as shootings continue
The Oregonian ^ | November 25, 2022 | By Savannah Eadens

… With more than a month left in 2022, the fatal shootings pushed Portland to a record 93 homicides, according to an Oregonian/OregonLive analysis of the city’s surge of violence. The number eclipsed the peak of 92 homicides last year, which had shattered the city’s previous record of 70 homicides in 1987.

Both this year and last, most of the people have died in shootings.

So far this year, at least 78 of the homicide victims died in shootings.

In response to the week’s violence, Mayor Ted Wheeler said his priority for the remainder of his time in office is to address homelessness and crime.

In a statement to The Oregonian/OregonLive, he pointed to the Police Bureau’s Focused Intervention Team and Enhanced Community Safety Team that concentrate on gun violence and community outreach, while promising to boost staffing of sworn officers and unarmed public safety specialists.

“At the same time, we will redouble our ongoing street level outreach efforts, revamp the work of the Office of Violence Prevention, and expand our community partnerships to offer actionable options to those now engaged in gun murders to step away from their violent lifestyle and make sustainable change,” Wheeler said.

For those “who won’t step away from the violence,” Wheeler said he would work with the statewide criminal justice system to seek harsh, possibly federal prison sentences for gun crimes.

“Justice for the victims and their loved ones demands nothing less,” he said.

THey have perhaps a third of the population of Chicago, and probably less than 10% of Chicago’s Amish population. After adjustments are made for this, the statistics are at least in the same ballpark.

It sounds like defunding the police is finally paying off.
I’m outside of Philly, we can send some retarded, violent blacks if more are needed.

If you can send them anywhere, Baltimore would suffice, although D.C. would be preferable. Maryland is a lost cause.

They’re all along the I-95 drug corridor.
A large number of stash houses are in Wilmington DE.
It’s located centrally as a distribution hub.
Fewer police and feds than DC and Baltimore.

He will address crime and homelessness as if he could put a stamp on it and mail it to Chicago.

Pretty easy to identify the issue:

“unarmed public safety specialists.”

“offer actionable options to those now engaged in gun murders to step away from their violent lifestyle and make sustainable change”

DE-Fund de PO-leece!
DE-Fund de PO-leece!
I’ll bet money most of the murder victims are lower income inner city people. People who, if they didn’t scream “DE-Fund de PO-leece! DE-Fund de PO-leece!” at least sympathized with those who did. Well, Buttercup, you got what you wanted. How do you like it?

Suburban and Rural Conservatives only need the Police to document property crimes unless they stray into the Feral areas of the cities. We need them to write their reports so we can re-coup losses from our insurance companies. Most of us don’t need them to keep the wolf from our door. We’re armed, situationally aware, and can take care of ourselves and our families.

So, enjoy walking those un-po-leeced streets. Good luck with the Feral Animals. I’ll lock my doors and rely on Mr Mossberg and my AR-15 to keep me and mine safe and I won’t venture outside without a handgun and plenty of ammo.

“Mayor Ted Wheeler said his priority for the remainder of his time in office is to address homelessness and crime.”

There’s nothing like the person who caused the problem saying he’s going to concentrate on fixing it. What a pathetic marxist POS Wheeler is.
