Oh, and my Smith is .357 magnum
AMISH NO DOUBT!!
She thought her little pistole would do the job. Should have had a ‘bigger’ gun.
“That thing needs wheels and a crew.”
That’d be a whole new category of permit: Carry Concealed Crew-Served Weapon (CCCSW).
You do know that later Smiths with the ‘built in lock’ are known to have issues with jamming, right?
Revolvers can jam too. It’s less likely than a selfloader, but they can still jam - and when they do it’s a lot harder to fix.
“...Being out at 2am in Chicago is asking for problems....”
Just being anywhere near Chicago at any time is asking for problems.
It’s the domain of.... BeetleJuice!!!
For the price and mass of a 627/627 Pro, you can buy three Glocks that are smaller, lighter and have twice the ammo each. And since the Smith 8 shots all have the “Hillary Hole” locks that are notoriously prone to jam the gun when firing full power rounds... why would anyone bother?
Seven shot? That would be one with the Hillary Hole lock. Maybe you should look into that device - you absolutely *do* have to worry about jams with that thing.
Well she’s in fair condition, which is a better condition she’d be in if she was not armed.
Gee!! thanks for that insight!
I wonder how long it would take to lure such an incident ?
I would point out that one of the reasons why .40 has been dropping in favor of late and many police departments have gone back to 9mm because improvements in projectiles have actually removed much to all of the terminal ballistic performance advantage that .40S&W had over 9mm twenty years ago. Something to consider.
I personally prefer .45 ACP - because even if the projectile does not expand, it’s still going to make a half-inch hole, it’s inherently subsonic even at full power (because suppressors are an option - why advertise where you are? - though this is very much a minority concern), it’s less likely to overpen but still often performs well against things like safety glass and windshields, and more. But the best caliber to carry is the largest one you can carry every day, score with rapidly and accurately and swiftly reload. A 9mm in pocket that you are deadly accurate with is better than a .50AE laying on the counter at home because it’s too heavy to carry and you can’t hit anything with anyway.
It’s Always Sunny does hit a little close to the bone, I do admit.
Yep. I cannot argue a single point. I had to laugh about the .50 AE, I have a vintage S&W 29 with a 6 1/2” barrel and all I do with it is show off. I would never, ever consider that monster for anything other than wilderness/wildlife protection.
Stay safe, my Freeper friend.
