Imagine that a progressive American city creates a financial incentive for residents to “transition” from man to woman or from woman to man.
That’s exactly what San Francisco has just done with a program called Guaranteed Income for Transgender People, or GIFT .
This is like using a fire hose to spray a burning skyscraper with gasoline. Talk about perverse incentives.
Anyone want to bet that, if this program expands, the number of San Francisco’s poor who say they identify as transgender also will expand?
Of course, San Francisco already is a lab for bad policy ideas. But giving guaranteed income to low-income residents who say they identify as transgender is surely next-level dumb.
The GIFT pilot program “will provide 55 eligible residents with $1,200 per month for 18 months, as well as health care and financial coaching,” the Los Angeles Times explains .
This scheme fuses bad fiscal policy with bad social policy. And the whole will be worse than the sum of its parts.
To see why, let’s look at the details.
First, note that this program doesn’t provide so-called universal basic income. It doesn’t target the whole population or even those in greatest financial need, but rather those with the greatest status in the intersectional hierarchy. In this case, that means residents, including minors, living at the intersection of economic poverty and transgender identity.

I’m pretty sure that the popularity of LGBTQ+ causes among young, white, straight, non-Hispanic students is partly because it is a way for non-protected persons to voluntarily join a protected class, whether they are any of those things at all.

Do San Franciscans need to have their “packages” (or lack thereof) checked? Or are they on the honor system?
For $1,200 a month, I’d cash in on this scam, as long as I don’t have to remove any original “equipment”.
I’m also trans for when the checks come, but I’m more questioning, leaning straight, all the other days of the month. Oh, who am I kidding, also all that day but that 2 minutes when I sign my Jane/John/Janet/Joseph/Janine/Jerry/Julia/Jack Hancock/Hanpussy on the back of the check.
Just call me Samantha and pay me my $1,200.
That’s a big part of it from what I hear. And a way to unload one’s guilt from being White and straight.
It doesn’t matter how much incentive is given to people to join, the Woke agenda is at war with good old reality. And as had been said, reality bats last (and always wins in the end).
The transgender hysteria is unheard of in poor dark-skinned countries around the world.

Speaking of perverse incentives, Baltimore plans to give a guaranteed income to Baltimore’s “squeegee kids”. These are thugs who hang out at stoplights and “offer” (which you refuse at the risk of vandalism or worse) to clean your windshield for money. There’s been a lot of crime associated with them (up to and including killings). So this proposed weekly payment to them to not be squeegee kids will have one result… as soon as the current squeegee kids vacate a street corner they will be replaced by others. The STUPID Baltimore leaders (and they ARE stupid) can’t anticipate this.
As usual, they’re late to the party.;-)

The beautiful thing about “non-binary” is you don’t need to do anything different. No surgery, no hormones. You don’t need to dress differently or change your hairstyle. You can even continue to be sexually attracted to the same people you were attracted to before.
All you need to do is make a declaration, “I’m non-binary.” and that’s it. You're in the club.
You are now part of a protected class. And in San Francisco, this means more $$$.
Just say, "I'm non-binary."
And that's it.

The trans cult got bigger in Scandinavia and then England and now here. Scandinavia in the last few years has now realized that there may be a social hysteria factor (ya think!?) behind it (especially for young girls wanting to be boys) and they have started doing more mental health therapy as opposed to declaring that it is not a mental health issue and can only be treated with cross hormones and surgery.
Hopefully England and the USA is not far behind. In many/most states it is illegal to treat gender dysphoria as a mental health issue.
Only 55 San Franciscans will get the $1,200 per month.
