I agree they (Republican elites) need to go, but that’s not going to be easy. They are quite adept, McCain like, at defeating challenges from the right.

Check out Alaska with its protect-the-moderate, ranked-choice voting system (RCV). Of course RCV ensures the moderates retain power as neither left nor right has a greater than 50% majority, so the 2nd choice votes go to the middle.

In my state, I consistently vote against the Bushbot RINO in the primary, but he wields so much power as the incumbent. We get close every two years, but he survives, then we pretty much have no real choice but to support him in the general against the Commie on the left.

Voting for the Commie wouldn’t work, BTW, even if we would risk it, because we live in a “conservative” state. I used quotes, because our state is more Republican than conservative.

I think that system can be defeated by running a 2nd lefty candidate in the same way they burned us running two R candidates.

Their plan worked because the Ds pick the RINO as #2 (appropriately, har har.) If the Ds have another choice they might pick more-left-D and secondly less-left-D instead the-only-D and the-RINO.
