The first laws putting a lid on ‘showmanship’ were in 2013/2014, which is EXACTLY when the Left declared Putin to be Public Enemy #1. So that likely started it.
Since then the BIG PROBLEM with Russia is that they are loaded with natural resources (particularly oil and gas) and simply WILL NOT permit the West to dictate what they can do with it (particularly export it to China and India). For the Globalists, that’s worth going to war, even nuclear war, for if Russia cannot be stopped, then the planet will burn up.
Hence the plan of the Globalist/Neocons to weaken and then partition Russia into countries that can be controlled. What they didn’t expect was that Russia just might object to their plan, even though Russia had said Ukraine was a red line, going back to at least Gorbachev.

However, promoting sex change operations to anyone under 21 is really a huge and horrible mistake. After the age of 21, they can chop off or glue on anything they like.
